I like it looks promising and keeping that motion control they have with them.

Re: Nintendo Wii U
Oooh, I had heard that the new Wii would be called the Wii U and I did see a picture of the new controller and console, but I didn't see any specs.
Thanks for posting about it.

That's because there haven't been any true specs, by which I mean processor power, ram, etc.RubberStamp wrote: but I didn't see any specs.

Good point, but that's what I get for posting right after I take a napGinRei wrote:That's because there haven't been any true specs, by which I mean processor power, ram, etc.RubberStamp wrote: but I didn't see any specs.

I meant that I hadn't heard anything other than the name of the system and I only saw the picture of the console and the controller, so this additional information has been useful.

Re: Nintendo Wii U
It had to be. They've tapped the "super casual" market with the Wii. They wouldn't be able to succeed with the same thing again. They had to put out a stronger system than the 360/PS3 or they'd flounder.Parkur wrote: At least it's gonna be HD \o/

Yuup.
I'm a little nervous about what the price is gonna be (or was that announced?)

Re: Nintendo Wii U
They didn't even show any actual gameplay, nor internal specs. Don't expect it (price or release) anytime before the next E3.
Though I gotta say, I'm definitely not getting any "next gen" console until at least three to four solid games I want come out for one. I was looking over my Wii game library (9 games), and out of it there's only one game that I truly enjoyed. Not counting Twilight Princess, since that was on the Gamecube as well. That game being Smash Bros Brawl, and even that was worse than Melee outside of character availability. Monster Hunter Tri had potential, but some of the crap the computer pulls off is so frustrating that I can't say I'd be sad at all if I could recoup some of my expenses on it. Only thing that should salvage it from being a poor purchase will be Skyward Sword.

Re: Nintendo Wii U
Lack of big launch titles are killing the 3DS in my opinion, hopefully they learn from that. They've gotta hit hard, with a new zelda, mario, and smash

Re: Nintendo Wii U
Well, this is pure speculation on my part - but the Wii 1 was released with a 249.99 price - HOWEVER, that was 5 years ago, and now, the Playstation Vita is 249.99Parkur wrote: Yuup.

I'm going to guess something along the line of 399.99 for the console itself and the controller. (399 was the same price of an xbox 360 when it launched)
I'm a little skeptical on how powerful this new console will be, I mean it looked nice with the cutscenes and cool, it's in HD. I wish they gave more details regarding the console itself rather than the controller.
TBH, I still don't think the Wii U has the same quality as the 360/PS3 - which is kind of a problem. As a next gen console, they had to really outstep the other consoles :/
Also, I feel like they needed more "umph" in the third party games. If Nintendo truly wants to sway gamers to their new console, take control of the 3rd party market! Getting Darksiders 2 and some Alien game isn't going to cut it :/
Super Smash Bros. is always good however, kind of curious how the cross-platform between 3ds and wii u is going to work though.

Re: Nintendo Wii U
400.00 is super high for nintendo, then again, this is their first time stepping into HD, but I'd say 300.00 - 350.00

Re: Nintendo Wii U
How can you not think it has the same quality when the videos shown for everything except the Zelda tech demo, which is obviously still in very early stages, were from the 360 or PS3 versions of those games? It's obviously not coming out for at least another 14-18 months. They aren't ready to show any actual footage of the system doing anything yet.ranger wrote: I'm a little skeptical on how powerful this new console will be, I mean it looked nice with the cutscenes and cool, it's in HD.
