He was doing what many teachers did to me.

Me: Can I go to the bathroom?
Teacher: I don't know, can you?
Me: May I go to the bathrom?

It is just a corny joke to correct one's grammar, but then again I heard about this joke too:

You : Can I Use The Bathroom ?
Teacher : I Dont Know, CAN you ?
You :When I Was Using The Word CAN I Was Using It As Its Secondary Model Form, As A Verbal Modifier For Asking Permission, As Opposed To Expressing An Ability . As An English Teacher I Thought You Would Know That . MY Bad . MAY I Use The Restroom Please ?
Teacher : ......

Thanks, I know what to reply to my teacher next time he tries to ridicule me ;)

:) The score between East and West is obviously 0-1, thanks to Kansai-ben Hattori stays a step ahead Kudo at the moment. (I sound like a sport reporter right now ...)

I don't quite get the thing about the dishes, but my money's on the fatso. He speaks in a very formal and I tend to do the same when speaking Standard German. So he's trying to hide his accent.

I'm leaning toward Ama (second guy), since he could specify that Hattori was from Osaka rather than just from the Kansai region.  To me, this seems to indicate that he's accustomed to conversing with Kansai-ben, and thus able to determine where someone's from in Kansai by subtle nuances in their speech.

Hmm...True. I just thought that since Osaka is the biggest city in the Kansai region that people might call all Kansai-ben speakers Osakans (or whatever the correct word is).
The problem is that we don't know what Heiji said to him before that and if that would allow him to find out that he's from Osaka and not from Kyoto or something like that.
Also: Conan specifically 'said' "strange speech". Imitating authentic Tokyo slang seems to be a bit harder to pull off.

first thing... woah you're awesome.... monday evening... i'm like... totally unexpected... was totally out of DC for the whole weekend... had a Bleach readthrough ... and than as if you want to pull me back... already

seems as if conan made a real troublesome mistake letting his big grin show up so openly in front of Sera(if she is a bad guy)... well ... sera wasn't really better at hiding her interest in front of camel, too.... to me it seems as if she is really not a bad guy... one of the bad ones wouldn't do that so apparently infront of an FBI (at least i think so)

Let's see, the last time we saw Jodie and Camel we got a glimpse at...rum bum bum SCAR AKAI! DAAANG

I like how Jodie thought Sera was a dude too. I still think, despite all the evidence, that Sera might be a guy. I mean come on not one freakin person has identified Sera as a female upon first meeting. Heck they even heard her voice but they still weren't sure.

Either Sera is a masculine girl, or we're in for a super surprise twist!

I'm sure Sera was watching Conan all throughout this case. Heiji mentioned Conan was getting the answers from Shinichi through phone. I'm sure Sera noticed Conan was never using a phone. She even noticed Conan figured out the solution. She definitely knows Conan is Shinich, but why did she assume so in the first place?

Nah, it proves that Kogoro is a genius. Who does Conan have to thank for finding out the culprit again? It's all thanks to Kogoro's approach to detective work:
"Ok, while those kids are investigating the suspects, I better go and investigate the food. And the beer. And then I'll investigate the digestives. "

And, yeah, why would Sera assume that Conan is Shinichi? It's not like he acted suspicious at all when she first appeared, amirite?
