im starting to wonder if gosho really knows what he's doing....,  and havent you noticed that lately, cases that are related to the plot have a different structure than the basic murder cases? you know, like bombing (red shirt case) another bombing (the one with sera) and then an abduction...

Why do you think he is not aware of what he is doing? 
About case structure changes, I understand that he tries to be creative.

Well, after reading the second file of the case, I pretty much got it all solved. Was a bit obvious.

Gosho should stay away from YouTube for a while, though. I don't want a case referencing the Keyboard Cat too.

Regarding Sera, now I think it is kinda obvious that she's not with the "bad guys". A character acting mysteriously and saying something suspicious in her apartment, now where have we seen that before?

Actually, 10 points to the first person who can identify what building she's in. Looks like a hotel to me, but it's neither the Haido City Hotel nor the Haido Hotel.

Looks kind of like Hotel New Baker, but it's too thin.  Then I thought it might've been the same building that Jodie lived in, but that had at least 21 floors and this one doesn't look like it even breaks 10 floors.

It's not the hotel from the first case she came in either. I was thinking it might've been the hotel that the little girl saw in the second case (the one with Conan riding the dog) but it's too hard to see in the file to compare. Also looks too tall. It's not the one from K3  :-\

It could be the hotel Akemi came out of after that other guy had died from poison (with the briefcases and such). Not sure though.

Nope, that's the (T?)enjyu City Hotel and it doesn't look like this one either.

The main problem with the building is how thin it is.  It doesn't look like it could hold more than one hallway per floor, with a room on either side.  Most hotels Gosho draws are those huge monstrosities.  I definitely agree it's likely a hotel, given what appears to be a fancy elevator on the side of the building, but still.

By the way Abs, are you quizzing or actually trying to find out yourself as well?

isn't the K3 hotel in Osaka and it had only 5x5 windows (hotelrooms)?, maybe this one has yet to be introduce or it is a high class apartment building... we don't know the financial background of sera(do we?) but probably not that bad...

and heiji and plot progression... from my memory and your enumerations i would say the chances of Heiji coming with plotprogress is ca 50:50

and i don't mind the plethora of new characters... as long as the old ones don't get abandoned or redundant

The former implying hotels are cheap and she's not very well off (which is what I first thought you meant, and assumed you thought they were cheap); the latter implying she'd have to be loaded to be staying in one continually.

in my mind.. staying a night in a 5 star hotel can get you a month rent of a cheep room
