i totally think the bug is on his glasses.
not sure how it got there, but...
that would just supreme irony, and would be a total facepalm when he finds out.
but if okiya is akai, then maybe conan put it on himself. that would be cool.

It seems I was right, give me cookies ;P.Goral wrote:(...)
My first thought here was that the rug was their initial target but because of kidnapping it doesn't make much sense either (far-fetched idea would be that they didn't want them to know carpet was their target so they've kidnapped Ayumi, lol - doesn't make sense I know). Ayumi having coffee on her isn't necessarily true and even if it was it would probably sink into Aymi's clothes and wouldn't stain the carpet much. Also, how the heck did they spill coffee? We know Agasa answered the door so either he put coffee on a table (so there would be no way it would be spilled unless Ayumi did it) or he went with coffee to answer in which case there wouldn't be a puddle where it was.
I was thinking the same thing except not Conan's glasses but Agasa's glasses since he would have rather easy access to it (he helps professor sometimes and I'm sure he would have the opportunity to do it). BTW, haven't noticed the ear-plug while I was skimming through the chapter, lol. And here I was thinking that Gosho made another goof and Okiya could hear sth Genta, Mitsuhiko and Ayumi couldn't.Mosflow wrote: i totally think the bug is on his glasses.

And yeah, Agasa revealing any information about Haibara was utterly stupid, even if there was no such thing as Black Organization.
Hi, how many people live with you? And while you're at it, at what time usually is the house empty?

Re: [Files 775-7XX] Target on Tape
lol maybe it was just some trash talk like:
"oh i think i saw a lil girl in the video, how old is she? is she your grandchild? my son is 8, i wonder if they go to the same school? maybe they could become friends! It's such a pain to go get him back so early in the afternoon, schooldays were longer when we were children, etc"
Sounds like something my mother would say, lol

thanks!
"In the end, they were able to find it themselves ... What an idiotic story"
lol
so who took the antique rug (and replaced it with a fake/copy)?
in the video there is no mention about the rug, and after noticing the rug when they got there they couldn't ask to buy only the rug without suspicion being raised about the value of the rug. the first couple of twin sisters offered to buy the vase, so that wouldn't give them much opportunity to steal the rug later on, and they didn't seem interested in the rug when they lifted the vase in the air. the second, middle aged couple, advised him to take the vase to an appraiser ( a chance to break in to the house and steal the rug ) and not show it to anyone else ( so then no one else would notice the rug). the third, father son couple also said something suspicious: when Agasa said the vase was worth a lot of money and he would throw in the rug as an extra, he had it backwards, which would seem very funny, just as the father thought. But can you really appraise an antique rug without examining it closely or touching? (the third father son couple did not)
So I am guessing the most likely candidate is the second middle aged couple who sat on it to feel the wool and who examined the vase/rug with a magnifier -- I just hope they were the unlikely tech savvy middle aged couple
If they go back to the apartment complex where they found Ayami wrapped in the rug, will they find the middle aged couple there?

Before anything else: siggingKleene Onigiri wrote: Agasa: "Let's call the police for help!"
Conan: "What is this 'police' you talk about?"
Anyway, I definitely think it's the middle-age couple. They very easily could've been looking at the rug instead of the vase, they seem polite enough to care for Ayumi despite kidnapping her, they warned Agasa not to show others possibly to avoid someone else finding the rug, and it wouldn't have been weird if they were asking about Ai as older people tend to do that. "I noticed you have a daughter. She seems delightful! Is she doing well in school? ...yada yada yah."
@Okiya: He still may be in the clear! He just happened to go to the supermarket when he happened to need meet and it just so happened the DB were there. Then, he just happened to catch Conan's voice on his favorite cooking radio station and was understandably peeved at the interruption. ...Which just happened to be at his favorite part: Dessert time!

you know I'm middly dissapointed with this file... i was hoping there would be more Sera and Okia intervension... i guess at the end of this case both Sera and okia would dissapear from conan world and never be heard for 5~10 months... ( and we will have bunch of filler cases...

Nah, this is standard Gosho flair. They rile you up in the first chapter, and then in the last page or two of the final part they'll do something else that'll rile you up. He's going back to what made the Vermouth arc so good, after not doing it well in the Kir and early Bourbon arcs. Too bad everyone already has a good idea about what's going on with the Bourbon arc so the impact won't be as good.

It would really be kind of mean of Gosho to throw Sera and Okiya in the same file and don't do anything.

By now (almost 800 chapters), it's to be expected.leokiko wrote: It would really be kind of mean of Gosho to throw Sera and Okiya in the same file and don't do anything.

Re: [Files 775-7XX] Target on Tape
I think I now understand... they have no intention to sell the rug they steal. I am under suspicion they are in hurry, so kidnapping isn't in their plan as they need the rug be their 'alibi'. It seems they are preparing to eliminate their evidence of old rug as second rug have something on it, as to frame Agasa as a culprit. What's more odd is Conan didn't call the police because he believe it will lead to a mystery, but never expect it is brought along to lead to Agasa into danger.
I think there is a case following by this, the group is likely to be murderers, and therefore need a rug either being worthless or worth and want it to be a stage of a location they already murder a victim. Agasa's rug has coffee stain, so the rug can be used for different scenario instead of telling the victim is being killed.

Re: [Files 775-7XX] Target on Tape
I agree that there is a high possibility of framing Agasa as a culprit based on the information. Also, there has to be a murder or some event should happen throughout the next files as it will be random if the detective boys and Conan investigate the three groups (people interested on the vase) for no strong reason. Strong reason would be Agasa is framed and evidence that he is not related to the crime would be an example i guess.Sato wrote: I think I now understand... they have no intention to sell the rug they steal. Also, was reference to the cat being a Russian Blue really necessary i this manga ?, i mean, all it does is increases our awareness of Eri, thinking of her as the person who talked to Itakura (the computer engineer dude).

Re: [Files 775-7XX] Target on Tape
I was guessing the vase may not be important, but it was put aside deliberately as to create a cover story. Or it's likely they see it as trivial case after seeing Eri's cat, didn't pay much attention to the vase but they knows well if they put down the vase's side on the ground, their secret will be exposed. Burglar make a mess, does they? But they didn't, put the vase appropriately as to say they are not burglars and want the rug.
