Yes, there is. Especially when all the episodes he is in have the same ending. They could have him be wrong least once and then make him face the consequences of that.

If Kaito Kid ever gets caught, they will find out that who he really is and it would cause too many problems. It would be fine if it was in Magic Kaito (near the end of the series, that is), because just like no one is supposed to know that Conan is Shinichi, no one is supposed to know that Kaito Kid is Kuroba Kaito (heh, talk about similarities  :P). What would happen if Kid's identity is known? It would obviously affect Nakamori and Aoko, but Kaito Kid's role so far was just as a guest in DC, therefore making cases with an actual story going on for Kaito Kid can be a bit problematic considering there's also a story going on in DC. it fits more into Magic Kaito where Kaito is the main character.
As I have said before, Kaito's "winning" is really no different from Conan's. Abs. summed it up well.
Conan's purpose has always been to solve the case, Kaito's case has always been to steal. Would be great if both of them failed for once so we can see the side of their characters after they fail, but for some reason, I don't see Gosho doing either.

In Detective Conan, I prefer Conan over Kaito because of the Kaito cases kinda stopped being interesting (at least if we are talking about Kirin's horn and some of the cases before that). But between the protagonist of Magic Kaito, and the protagonist of Detective Conan, I think prefer the protagonist of Magic Kaito.

My concern is, pretty simply: Why does it matter if she's someone's least favorite character? I like the Yokomizo brothers, but when someone says they dislike them, I don't wind up the hate machine. Back on topic--I would say she definitely was the strongest in my view in terms of potential development and such, so I'd agree there. The only thing is that Gosho kind of tapped that well until it dried (at least for his intended purpose of her). After she became a staple, she couldn't really be changed too much without it affecting the "usual" files (I'll get back to this in the next paragraph). All of that aside, you can't really deny that maybe--just maybe--there are those that never liked her character to begin with. You know, people that honestly just didn't care for her entire backstory, her attitude, or her showing up at Agasa's all shrunk and business. For all the reasons you like her, someone else could dislike her and be totally right since it's simply their opinion.

Someone could definitely, rightfully vote Kogorou in these polls, but they aren't likely to (judging from the results, that does seem to be an accurate assessment). The reason being that he is a very inoffensive character--he doesn't really presume upon the viewer or come off the "wrong way" in many situations. His role (as you said) hasn't changed, which is mostly because Gosho doesn't do major changes to core characters (it'd affect the fillers). Apart from the occasional Eri case, his role is very defined and isn't really one that can be disliked to any great extent.

Basically, for some characters, time changes things. If Kid had only showed up in episode 76, I guarantee you he'd have a lot less "least favorite" votes up there, despite the fact his character has not really changed whatsoever--we've just seen way too much of it.

I don't hate any character. But basically, I don't mind whether Ai appears in a episode or not D: (but if she appears, some fans are quite annoying about it...)
