Who are the kidnappers and what were they after?

On a less cracky note...   
...HaibaraxAyumi is quite cute actually 'cause Ayumi trusts Haibara so much and Ai's learning how to open up to people through Ayumi. If Ayumi was older I'd probably ship it..

damn.. i looked at the spoilers even though i cant read any of them.. *facedesk*

btw.. not really concerning this case but did anyone recognise that shortly after Okiya was introduced we had the case with gentas dad in which is said that he had to these eyes because of the glasses... maybe i'm interpreting too much into that but for me that is to much of a coincidence if it doesn't hint about Akai's eyes + glasses = Okiya's eyes...??

This has already been pointed out in this topic: viewtopic.php?t=3518.0 by Chekhov.

And, in my opinion, it may be a subtle hint by Gosho.

This whole case sure makes me wonder again just how much do the DB's parents know about what their children are doing in their free time.

Anyone still think Okiya is just some "ordinary graduate student"?  :P

So the cat story is fake. The culprits purposely wanted them to think that this was all about a cat, hence letting Ayumi see them with a cat carrier and hear them talking about trying to find a cat. The cat in the picture is in fact just a photograph of Eri's cat from the video on the video site.

Conan in the last scene is looking at the rug, however this rug has been quite abused... Coffee, trash heap, wrapped around a little girl...

Can't help but think that the culprits wanted them all out of the house during the "cat search"...

I don't think he was smug in 776, if anything he looked quite worried. Those dark line things were on his nose, right? That's what usually happens to Conan when he's fustrated/worried/in danger...

Gotta agree here. Question is: why? Were they searching around? Were they actually allied with Okiya and were the ones who put the tap (or whatever) in the house for him to listen to? And lastly...
Where did Sera disappear to? I know she just made a brief appearance last time, but she's one of the suspicious people. I can't help but think she should be there :/

EDIT: Just looked over the last few pages...
When they get back after the search, where'd the vase go? :o

EDIT EDIT: And...it seems Okiya was listening especially during the BO stuff :o :o :o

No, this is Japan.  Younger kids usually refer to older ones with either "neechan", "niichan", "oneechan", "oneesan", "oniichan", "oniisan", etc.  The only "neechan" at Conan's place is Ran, so it's obvious it's Ran he's talking about.  It's very common.  I was even called that when I was over there.  "Wendy-neesan".  I was so surprised and honored at the same time that I was viewed in such a way.
And Mitsuhiko said "that high-school detective he knew", so Mitsuhiko forgot Kudo Shinichi already?
I doubt it, but how many times have the Detective Boys even met Shinichi.  Off the top of my head, I can only think of two.
