The thing I want to point out is this: Compare the value between an undamaged one ($120,000) with a damaged one ($30,000). If you were an art thief, would you really take the chance of the item you are stealing losing 3/4 of its value?

As for the kidnapping idea. I said it once. What does Agasa have to suggest he has any money. To me all signs show he is not rich, so why a kidnap unless it is for the Vase?

Also while you might cut around the painting of say a Van Go, you would not cut across the middle. Here you be very careful not to damage it. The painting, not the frame is what is of value.

And most thing of real value have to be seen in real life to know if they are real or fakes. The thieves could not have known just by look at the video, the real value of that vase.

just pointing out some things i recognised/came up with while reading the latest posts,

i highly doubt option 1 of the poll, mainly because vodka has a different car (conan in contact with BO(V37F8-38F1)) and furthermore i can't imangine Gin inside a car but not on one of the frontseats of his porsche (has yet to be shown, but i think he is obsessed with his car)

if Okiya = Akai then i think he is after them so fast because he saw the suspicious car AND Ai is the only other person his precious Akemi cared for (or something like in that direction,to lazy to write something better)

someone said something about vermouth keeping Ai's secret... maybe because she thinks that the creator of the shrinking drug is quite a good catch for creating a permanent antidote, especially since she witnessed him in his Kudo-form in the desperate revival case and seemed to be quite surprised to see her silverbulletkun in his normal form, and from this guessed it was ai who made the antidote

and one last thing even if it was mentioned quite a few times already the carpet is clearly shown behind agasa in the first panel of the last page

There is nothing "strange" or "wrong" with that, since they are close friends. Girls also like to exchange cloths with their best friend. Some even kiss each other as a greeting, without any strange thoughts...

When you buy glasses, you can choose to make them anti-reflecting or not. Of course, choosing the anti-reflection is making the glasses more expensive. And even with the anti-reflection, the glasses still reflect a lot. So it's possible to see the cameraman in the reflection and recognize him/her. Especially since Agasas glasses are quite large.
Tho zooming in so much and seeing the reflection so clear is a bit off. But I guess Gosho didn't want to use photoshop and use a blur filter :p

I think it's more like a pun/gag . Since Sera is quite smart and almost perfect like the other meitanteis. But to make her less flawless, she needs a "flaw".
Conan/shinichi can't sing, and is mocked because of that. Heiji is from Osaka and has a accent and was mocked by that by Jodie He was also teased for his hot temper too. Even Akai was mocked once because of his bags under his eyes Thus Sera is being mocked that she's too manly/is flat-chested.

Also yep, even if the zooming and enhancement is indeed too much, it's true that in most of my photos with my old glasses you could never see my eyes but you see perfectly whatever was reflected on them... one would think Agasa would have better glasses though /jk
