They could have just knocked her off and left her there, like they did with Agasa. No need to kidnap here. Conan-tachi would realize the rug would be missing even if they didn't take Ayumi.
could be that they have other demands that they need a hostage for.

When? You mean with Gin, Pisco, and Vermouth? Didn't they try to kill her on their own without any orders from the boss?
how would the boss telling them "hey you two go find this scientist girl who escaped" increase their chances though? Vermouth had been tracking Ai for quite some time and enlisted help but still didn't succeed. Far as we know, the boss couldn't have given them any more specific of a plan because the BO doesn't know about Ai yet, just Vermouth does.

I know that but I said "Send their top agents just to capture one runaway female scientist?" and you said "They've done it before". So I'm thinking you are saying people in the BO or the boss himself sent Gin, Pisco, Vermouth after Shiho. Which confuses me since I thought they tried to kill her on their own without any orders being given to them to do so at the time.

oh, then yeah, nevermind. My point was just that I would hope they wouldn't send newbies because apparently the high-ups can't take care of her either

yeah that's what I want since I know it's dangerous for her to become Sherry...
Especially if Ai is supposed to face Sera, then I prefer her to be in Sherry's form...^^
well I guess it's impossible but still...

Anybody else notice the creepy way ayumi said "Ai-chan's scent!"
I was slightly disturbed by her enjoyment of having Haibara's scent on her...

I mentioned that earlier, maybe Ayumi's just around the house smelling Ai's stuff.
The way she said it reminded me of when a male character in some ecchi anime gets a wiff of some girls panties.

I think it is pretty evident in this file and recent ones that Sherry is dead! Definitely is either completely gone or is dormant in her because I am definitely noticing a whole new personality taking over.

She obviously just has the biggest, highest resolution monitor that technology can create. It's so advanced, it's not even on the market! Agasa's eye on said monitor was as big as the entirety of the monitor Conan was using, so it's only natural that she saw the reflection without even having to zoom!
Theory 1) It really is the black org. Assuming Okiya is Bourbon (sorry chek, but bear with me on this one), he could have stipulated that the girl was Sherry, but didn't have a way to confirm it. Now that they have a picture, they were able to compare with childhood pictures and confirm. Thus they moved to grab her.
Reasons why it can't be option 1) The black org are professionals, and would have confirmed their target's identity first. Thus Ayumi would have never been grabbed in the first place. Also they are known to use guns, not tasers. Thus Agasa would be dead, not unconscious. (unless that crazy theory of him being the BO Boss is correct, but for now we'll assume its not)
Theory 2) The criminals looked up the professor and determined he had money, seeing as he is an inventor and it is not exactly a cheap profession. If they knew the house then they would also know it is not a cheap neighborhood. Thus they could have been after who they thought to be the old man's granddaughter. Considering that it was a reflection, they could have easily mistaken Ayumi for Haibara if they weren't careful.
This theory is entirely possible, but somewhat unlikely due to Gosho's style. It is more likely to have to do with the vase.
Theory 3) (the most likely theory) The criminals weren't after the vase, but what was IN the vase. Had they wanted the vase, they would have just taken it. So what likely happened is this... They saw the video on line, and recognized the vase as something they had hidden something valuable in. When Agasa bought the vase what was in it was probably already taken out, but knowing that they are criminals they probably tried to go in pretending to know the value of the vase and asked to look at it. They realized it was their vase, and determined that what they wanted was no longer there, likely assuming that Agasa took it, or knew who had it (the original seller of the vase) so they tased him and kidnapped who they thought was his granddaughter. Whether or not they saw the reflection is inconsequential. If we assume they had, then perhaps they didn't zoom in and only saw the image of a young girl in the glasses and grabbed the wrong person.

Regarding theory 3: That may explain why the vase was standing even though the rug was taken. It's easier to reach your hand inside a vase if it's standing after all.
Agasa needs to invest in some security, for reals. This is the 800000000th time someone's gained illegal entry into his house for some reason or other.

This.
And, I've figured out the case. It's not BO-related or FBI-related or anything like that. It's...

Gosho's way of showing people that they should be careful what they post on the internet. XD
