On page 4, why do Genta say "that neechan from Conan's place", so Genta forgot Ran already? And Mitsuhiko said "that high-school detective he knew", so Mitsuhiko forgot Kudo Shinichi already?

I'm not going to excuse Genta, but at least as far as the manga goes the DB haven't interacted with Shinichi all that much.  In fact, the only time I can actually recall them meeting was in Desperate Revival, where he said "Hey" to them and they're like "Who's that?".

It could still be a BO case... what if it's two newer members sent to get Ai, but the only thing they know about her is her clothes?  Then they could mistake Ayumi for Ai.

Telling kidnappers about clothes doesn't make much since. But Ayumi did have her handband on. It could be possible that they were just told "Get the girl with short hair that lives with the old man." The kidnappers wouldn't know the difference since Ayumi was the only one there.

well, Okiya followed the kids to the supermarket, so unless Sera followed Okiya to the store for some action I doubt that's the case.

I agree, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  I'm just throwing out possibilities.  In that sense, it's much more likely to be FBI/CIA, as Agasa didn't die and they took the wrong kid.  Surely, though, the FBI would know what Ai looks like versus Ayumi.

It makes sense since unlike Shinichi, she probably won't go back to her adult form unless there's an absolute necessity. And that's not even sure, maybe she doesn't even want to become Sherry again (at least, not until the BO is taken down). I mean the only time it happened she didn't transform back voluntarily, Conan just didn't tell her what the effects of the Pikaru where.

That was my thought as well. Ayumi was wearing the same outfit of Haibara's that Haibara was wearing in the video. Why would they want to kidnap Haibara, though? I don't think it's BO-related.

And when that scientist has crucial knowledge regarding the development of a secret poison, I'd imagine it's a high priority to not mess up the mission.

at the very least, that's what gosho wants you to think, but if these are just normal people who saw the video, you have to wonder if they can just enhance-enhance-enhance like Conan did to see Ai's reflection in Agasa's glasses. So your point of her just being a witness seems like it would make more sense in that case.

They could have just knocked her off and left her there, like they did with Agasa. No need to kidnap here. Conan-tachi would realize the rug would be missing even if they didn't take Ayumi.
