Of course the manga is way better than the anime, but I like watching the anime, too.
I started with watching the anime before I even knew about the manga, so I think I should be gratefulXD

That means: cutting, cutting and again: cutting. It really sucks xd
They also dared to show it at 12 o' clock! Sure, little kids coming from kindergarden reeeeeeally like to watch Conan. *sigh*  :P
After a while I just stopped watching it even when I got the chance. It was just too depressing.
Also kind of boring. I am happy reading the manga and watching the movies.
Japanese with english subs of course  ;)
@ Celeste:

Yeah, what RTLII made with the Conan anime series is terrible! Cutting parts away that are necessary for the case only because of a slight view of blood... -- Conan is an anime that is NOT for little kids under 8, RTLII!!!
And then the time, as if you could watch Conan at 12 o' clock... We have school, too but school can't be at 12 o' clock following RTLII... And then - because of the less viewers they stopped Conan here in Germany...
That's so ***!
But you can still watch Conan - the japanese version with english subs (like the movies) - here from DCTP!
But sure, reading the manga is the best solution for Germans so far except Fansubbing...
(And I know what I'm talking about because I am German, too...)

--Oh and welcome aboard, Celeste!
not just conan, they erased every single drop of blood in naruto, one piece(partially) ETC.. they make every anime just awful. Although, I am grateful, because of rtl2 i got to know these animes :) especially conan.

I always read the manga because it's ahead of the storyline and you can read it at your own pace, unlike in the anime in which everything is divided into minutes and seconds :P

Also, the art has ALWAYS been better in the manga.

I also find the manga easier to read :3 I also read RAWS sometimes, helping me practice reading Japanese. :)

Of course, I love the anime because of its superb voice acting and ~amazing~ music. But the animation is just...ugh.

But if there's a case that I really like (e.g. Desperate Revival) , I do both- read the manga and watch the anime. But for BO arcs, I prefer the manga.

Manga

it's a head
Better Art
I can imagine
I can pay attention to more clues
I can deduct or try to without having to click "pause"

Either way, besides Death Note, I have not yet seen a series where the anime is better than the manga

I'm not really into manga, simply because im an impatient person, and theres much more action and thrill in the anime

the voice acting is really good, and I like practically all the openings/closings and soundtrack of the anime.

I'm not patient either... for manga, this is the first series I's actually gone this far XDDD, but maybe it's just for some reason, my imagination likes the manga better XDDDD

Agree though, the anime is quite good in conan, Voice actors are awesome ^_^ (better cast in voice acting then the cast in the live action... don't get me wrong, but I'm so used to the anime voice acting, that I actually thought that if it were to become a live action, the voice actors need to voice them too XDDD)

Im really tempted to read some of the manga because of the long wait for episodes, but I dont wanna spoil anything good for the episodes :(

yup.  Conan's voice actor is great!  As with haibara's...just about everyone's is great, Agasa, Kogoro, Megure...I dunno if I had to say a "bad" voice actor in the show, Id say Ayumi, just because her voice gets on my nerves sometimes.

Also, is it hard to switch between manga and anime?  like, if I were to switch to the manga as of right now, what file/chapter would that be...because aren't a lot of cases sort of swapped around (like a case back 5 volumes ago pops up in the anime now)

tbh, I started reading the manga at file 699 after episode 540 or so and I have no problem understanding what's going on. There's one other case that's relevant to the current arc, which I didn't read, but all the relevant points are re-mentioned in the current files

I haven't read a lot of DC manga episodes but I've already watched a ton of DC anime episodes... I can't really say which is better but no matter what format Case  (Detective Conan) is presented, it will always be my favorite anime series...

if you started at 699, then you have missed three cases  ::)
oh wow, I'd figured I'd missed a lot more cases than that, thought the anime was a bit farther behind.
