THE SIGN SAID TOIRET INSTEAD OF TOILET. WIRELESS RAN! lol, Japan

Also, this is my favorite one appearance character since that crazy beautician from that Eri case (even though he does sound like he desperately needs a drink of water half of the time).

First time I noticed that Ran is possibly ambidextrous!  (Yeah, I may be super slow on this one.)

Let's not overlook the fact that Conan is committing a serious offense by harboring the fugitive; no matter what his intent is, he'd be in serious legal trouble... if he wasn't 7. And if, according to the government, he actually existed (although Agasa has taken a few steps in this direction, it'll be hard to find birth records).

In short, the title is not referring to Oomine--oh no.

The culprit mentioned in "Two Days With The Culprit" is Conan. Oomine is the real hostage here. Think about it--he can't get away now! Conan won't let him go until the case is solved, which means the tides have turned.

How's that for a conspiracy theory? :-*

If Harry Potter taught me anything, it's that a character can do whatever the hell he wants as long as everything turns out well in the end.

Dumbledore: "So, Harry here... practiced magic off school grounds, sent several students to the brink of death with his shenanigans, got another killed, and got our roof destroyed by a dragon. But in the end, because you thhwarted the dark lord's plan, and because you're Harry Potter, 100 points to Gryffindor! That magically brings your house in the lead, and you win! Yay!"

*Chiba and Takagi go by without seeing Oomine and Conan*
Oomine: Why didn't you make a sound?
Conan: Huh?
Oomine: You're a hostage, it's only common sense to say something when you see cops, right?
Conan: Oh, yeah.

I'm really liking this episode. It just feels fresh compared to the usual set-up and Oomine delivers in the comic-relief department. Actually the whole episode is a step up in the comedy. They are even using subtle jokes as Mouri showing up to the mall on a bike. ;D
As for the case itself:
Spoiler:
I don't think we have enough clues to come up with a solid deduction(but the great detectives on this board can prove me wrong) just yet but everything seems to point to Kanayama. I'm not fully convinced that the "live" call with the secretary wasn't just a previous call he saved to put on a show for Mouri. Momoko never acknowledged that Mouri was standing directly behind Kanayama but pointed out the police weren't there. So Kanayama could of saved an earlier call from Momoko(perhaps soon after it became news that the president was killed) and immediately thought of using it to make her a possible suspect as he was expecting Mouri to come around.

It's still too early to take a good guess but I'll do it anyway ;D. Kanayama strategically uses Oomine's caring for his friends to set him up. He most likely gave Oomine a location where the president would be alone and the only witness would be a camera. His initial plan was to set up Oomine in an accidental shooting. Knowing Oomine really wouldn't shoot the president, Kanayama gave him a gun with blanks or switched out the bullets of Oomine's gun. After this he waited at the location with an explosive device(fireworks? or tape recorder?) and shot the president with a silenced gun while playing the sound giving the impression to Oomine that he shot the president.

Or maybe it was a set-up between Kanayama and the president to avoid legal problems but in the end Kanayam actually killed him. The culprit conveniently shooting a can filled with a red liquid gets me thinking this might be possible and that was a hint.
Also, has anyone else noticed that Takagi is actually getting lighter which each new appearance. Soon he's going to be Haibara light. ;D

I agree that Kogoro showing up on a bike for no reason is awesome (well I suppose he had to since if I remember correctly, he doesn't actually own a car. He just rents cars). Also, I like the Sonoko and Ran thing at the beginning because we can randomly pretend that it is remembering continuity about Ran not wanting to rely on Sonoko's wealth (or whatever it was with that Dark Contact case). :DDDDDD

This episode is also more proof that 1 ep AOs = bad, 2 part AOs = good. (which is weird since it was mostly the other way around (at least imo) in the older episodes)

clearly Harry is a role model for children everywhere *nods twice*
these books send too many wrong messages no matter how you look at it.

The episode for me was quite a comic relief, especially the Kogoro on bike and the silly Oomine. If someone ever makes an abridged episode of this case, it has too much materials for abridged series jokes  ;D

ehh...have to disagree. Megami33 makes me laugh from her 40 episodes (for now) abridged series of Sailor Moon.

Well I've seen about 15 Abridged series and 11 of them sucked (LK has a Naruto abridged-like series and I'm still undecided about Yu Yu Hakusho abridged). I don't care about Sailor Moon.

But more importantly, that is why I said "basically".

I liked YYH abridged, kuwabara is spot on.  I also kinda like case closed abridged( only the first ep), megure is hilarious "myaaah ya see"

Which one are you talking about. As far I'm aware there are three case closed abridged seireses.

Conan: I suppose I can help you to find who the real culprit is, even though it is totally against my character and the points I've made for more than 500 episodes where you can see that I'm not a person who makes his own justice and I can probably catch the other culprit on my own, but anyway you will be sent to jail and will never be heard of again just like any other character in this show and besides it's a filler so no matter what I do it's not part of the plot and it doesn't say anything about my character and it just means that the writers sucked big time in this case.
