What's the half way point of this series?

Post by kkslider5552000 »

If I had to guess, it's the star and cigarettes case aka 2nd case in the CELLPHONE ARC.

345.  It resolves many of the building plot points from the beginning of the series up to that point, and then created a new jumping board for the second half.

The phone arc... Ah, days when we actually thought this series had a chance of ending.

Oh, and that arc never went anywhere. Thanks, Gosho. :'(

345 indeed. Hopefully the series will end before 700, on that note.

at the end of episode 500, akai says "we've reached our half-point mark" or something along the lines of that.

Prob just joking, but I wouldnt be surprised if what he said was true  :D

I agree, though that was like file 430 so if that was half then does it mean 860 will be the end? Hopefully it'd be before 800, or maybe exactly at 800. Though that's still a long time cause if we are now at 707, then it's like another two years until file 800.

It could have gone somewhere. Conan was like "I'm going to use it and find the boss of the B.O." and Haibara was like "No, don't do it, it's too dangerous. don't ever use it." and then Conan was like "Ok" and then it was never mentioned until 425, and THEN it was never mentioned again...

yeah, this is what I meant. I do agree that 345 feels like the perfect half way point storywise (especially since the CELL PHONE ARC was only used as a way to get to the Kir stuff) it was volume 42. Which would mean that the end is 84.

Of course, this means Chaosangel can't be right since that case was like volume 29 or something...and 29 + 29 is 58.

I would also like to say that even with me being more patient than anyone with this series (or at least that's what it seems like) once the Okiya Subaru arc nears it's conclusion (something like the first four episodes of Clash of Red and Black probably?), even I think the pace of this series needs to be quicker. Maybe even as quick as the anime was last year.

This year the manga cases in the anime haven't felt that important (especially compared to last year) outside of the Artificial Veneer cases (half of these cases are arguable since both Subaru cases seemingly did almost nothing with the "Subaru might be Bourbon" plot), of course the three cases that gave us a good conclusion to the Sato X Takagi plot and MAYBE the Kid case(mainly because I think Kid might have said something to Sonoko's uncle when they were planning how to let Kid open the safe that might be said to Conan that might explain more of the Magic Kaito plot (like when Jirokichi noticed the full moon thing in the teleportation case))

You're lucky that you don't read the manga...I don't remember why I started but now there is no turning back...oh well.

I so hope that Gosho will give one hell of confrontation with Bourbon so we'd either see it as a direction to the end, or maybe sometime later we'll see that he is going for the end.

As I've said before, my guess is that the Subaru case will end in the manga next year (which means it will end in the anime in 2011). A 2 year arc for Kaito Kid arc, three 1 year arcs, and the last 2 arcs would last 3 years with the 2nd to last arc that leads to the final arc and the final arc.

These arcs would also be much more different from the Jodie, Eisuke and Okiya arcs. Probably. Hopefully.

You're forgetting Ran told Conan that Eisuke heard the number in Red vs. Black.
