If you could...
This place needs another fun topic to move it away from the pairing wars. So I present the If you could change one thing about a Detective Conan case to change the outcome, what would it be? topic.
That's right ladies and gentlemen! Now is your chance to vocalize your opinions. Ever watch a case and think "why did the culprit do x when he could of done y!" or "Conan should of really done y instead of x in this case"
Example:
The Return
In my opinion, this should of only been a Heiji and Conan buddy case. The one thing I would change about it is the inclusion of Ran, Kazuha, & Mouri. With Ran gone, this shifts the case from a romance type case into a full suspense case. With those three gone, everything essentially happens from Heiji's point of view(while always staying serious as Heiji needs to prove Shinichi innocent without the comic relief aka Mouri & Kazuha) and since he isn't in love with Shinichi, there is no magic radar or give away fooling the viewer. Only at the end would you see the twist or realize your guess/deduction was correct.
The outcome would be similar to the original only with the change of who the gun is pointed at. With this change, it would be pointed at Heiji.

Ok speaking of that episode. Why does ran always have to know if it isn't shinichi that is so stupid because 1) its corny 2) It just takes away the suspense.

Unlike the "feeling of being watched" and Haibara's "BO sense," Ran's sense that the person isn't Shinichi is based in reality.
Come on, if someone pretended to be the person you grew up with and spent practically every single day of your 17 years of life with, even if they look exactly the same and they exhibit symptoms of amnesia - you'd have to notice the differences, if at least on a subconscious level. There are things about a person that amnesia won't erase. Things such as the way they move, or hold themselves. Unless you are looking for them, these differences may not scream out at you, but your subconscious registers them nonetheless, and that changes your attitude and actions toward them.

Thanks for trying to quell the pairings wars!
Hmmm, one thing about a case? There's so many that I would have tweaked details over. Does it matter if it's movieverse?
I'll have to say that the one that bothered me the most was the one where Kid tried to "steal" that huge clock. It would have worked better with Hakuba instead of Shinichi, mainly because I see no problem with focusing on more minor characters every now and then (and since we'll probably never see a Magic Kaito show...). It even could have ended with Shinichi reading about the case and musing on how he would have solved it, just to keep his character in there somehow.

Ok admit that Haibaras BO sense isn't practical but there is such a thing as the feeling of being watched.Abs. wrote: Unlike the "feeling of being watched" and Haibara's "BO sense," Ran's sense that the person isn't Shinichi is based in reality.

But come on did you see the episode? She can tell just by looking at him? That's not real its way to corny. And even as much as she knows him how is she suppose to notice a difference when he has amnesia? is there a specific way shinichi acts when he has amnesia ? i don't understand what you mean by that coz not everyone gets the same amount of memory loss during amnesia. could be a little bit or could be 95% of it.
In my opinion it just ruined the episode coz I already new that wasn't shinichi because of ran. I like to discover stuff before they announce it on the show i don't like when the answers are just given to me espeially at the begginging of an episode.
Ok that's all i don't wanna make it long since some people are lazy bums and don't take the time to read long posts >.>.

Ok your right in that minor charcters like hi should get more rrecognition but let him battler kaito? no way that's shinichis job and only his it will onlybe interesting if shinichi and kaito have it out .. bourbon(im only saying bourbon coz i forgot how to spell his name lol) maybe that's debatable but other than that no way.tetra26 wrote: Thanks for trying to quell the pairings wars!

Re: If you could...
Less obvious suspect and less retarded attempted metaphors involving Haibara's fear of fn Static electricity in the Blue Spark of Hatred would be appreciated.
also "The Candy House the Witch Lives In" AO in the 360s wouldn't have been a case at all as it was awesomely pointless like the first episode of Lucky Star for the first half of it.

I'm not sure if you're statics are right but I agree with you in a sense that Gosho should of put Ran in his back pocket. He had plenty of cases to show how strong the bond between Shinichi and Ran is but only had one case to pull this trick off.KaitoKid0 wrote: Unlike the "feeling of being watched" and Haibara's "BO sense," Ran's sense that the person isn't Shinichi is based in reality.

Didn't matter if Ran had a logical reason for knowing something wasn't right with Shinichi or she just used her magical sensor, her being uncertain essentially gave away the answer extremely early in the case. After that, the case became extremely weak as it's strong point was the mystery behind Shinichi. That's why I would change Ran being included and would also remove Kazuha & Mouri. This way it's all suspense and keeping the viewer guessing.
Anyway, I'm glad we are talking about something different but this topic really wasn't meant to dissect The Return. Feel free to keep talking about it but humor me and post something you would liked changed from a certain case. Even kkslider is trying.

Re: If you could...
I dunno, I thought for a while (especially with the hype) that they were using the thing brought up in the early 300s about hearts growing apart when they are away.
I would like to change 96 so that Carlos becomes a recurring character. He was cool.

"I Don't want to see her cry anymore...even if that means I no longer exist in her heart."
When he said that in the Missing Watch, I actually believed that it would lead to a big event but clearly that isn't happening now or never. As for Carlos.........yeah, I would rather have Hama Mike but there's probably legal issues in that.
Another Case:
The City Crows(ep.363). The death of the old lady. What she did was extremely messed up but the culprit went overboard in killing her for it. Also the removal of Ayumi's annoyance. Yeah it's an AO but it combined with canon episodes, it makes her look like a brat that must always have things her way.

Episode 513 - 514 - Coffee aroma with murderous intention
* I wish the culprit didn't commit suicide*
Episode 490 (1 hr special) - Kudo Shinichi vs Hattori Heiji - The Grand Deduction Battle
* Last part - I wish it wasn't that snowy so that they could see each other face to face
Episode 433 - Conan a strange child
* Just the title - I was mislead by the title....

Re: If you could...
lmao wait whos carlos again (refresh my memories, its been a while from the dub)
I'll dabble with this game
In OVA 2 (the one where Hattori breaks the wine bottle)...
Conan should of totally had a wrong-ass deduction, and guessed it was Haibara or something..and Then Hattori starts laughing his ass off, thus obviously stating the fact that Hattori was the culprit

yeah me too. I wanted Haibara to act strange and she'd be a suspect. That could have been hillarious.ranger wrote: lmao wait whos carlos again (refresh my memories, its been a while from the dub)

Re: If you could...
I know one thing I would have changed regarding storyline. I would have introduce Haibara earlier and at the start she would have been a mysterious girl who drops every once in a while a cryptic sentence to Conan. At the start she'd be in a case, but won't become one of the detective boys, then later like after 10 cases, she'd be again in a case and only then reveal her true identity to Conan. However, it is flawed since Haibara lives with Agasa and it meant that Conan won't drop by Agasa until Haibara revealed her real identity.
If it had been done that way, the plot twist about Haibara would have been much more ehh...twisted...yeah, that's the word...I think
