My thoughts now: what does Ran think about the Shinichi situation since he was talking on Conan's phone o.O

I feel bad for Ran. If I were her, well, you know, I'd probably hate Shinichi, for choosing a deducing-crazy kid with a supposedly same hobby over me--his childhood friend who clearly cares about him and faithfully waits for him.

In that panel, Haibara and Conan are alone together. Shiho's age has more or less been established as older than Shinichi and Ran. (Notice Hattori even refers to Haibara as the "chissai neechan")

Hence, Shiho wouldn't be calling someone younger than her "neechan"

The info from this chapter:

Elephant  - Undried hair, probably from bathing
Fox          - Made up excuse to come again
Rat          -  Low educated

Tanami (fat lady with hat) 41y - unmarried, working at family business(stonemasonry) - rushing back from victims room(probably to WC)
Shinobu (front teeth)    36y    -  Divorced, working at bakery for 20 years - loves onsen
Sumika (glasses)          39y      -  Married to a seal craftsman, housewife - extremely polite, cleanly.

Additional info  -
Tanami's book was torn
Her slipper were soaking wet and warm when Tanami was present, but not when Sumika was

Suwagari has bad temper, acts often without thinking, survival game leader. Nickname Japanese bush warbler.

Elephant general traits  - Big, grey, likes to bath
Fox general traits          - Sly, cunning, fur
Rat general traits          -  quick, diseases, big front teeth(!)

However, if we suppose the victim named people by their colors(as the bird is green like her brothers survival clothing) then:
Tanami = Elephant (I think stone is often greyish like the elephant)
Shinobu = Rat ( bakery->bread->brown....plus she has big front teeth)
Sumika = Fox (maybe seal craftsmen cause a lot of sparks which is orange/red?) Not so sure about this one.

Low EQ, not low IQ

Actually neither tells how educated one is

What is EQ? I've heard of IQ so I assumed it was a typo, but I guess not.

Right now I think about how Conan can get out of this pinch he is in.
He managed to hide his real identiy or many month (maybe years who knows)
That all comes down to one thing.
Either Sera is good and can help shinichi to bring down the BO and win.
Or Sera is part of the BO and hunts to Shinichi.
Damn I hope gosho keeps this going after this case. I can't wait to read the next one.
I just hope the story will start big this time a lot of story cases. Would be great to see how Conan manages to explain everything.
I just can't hold back laughing thinking about Ran and Conan bathing together and always beeing that kinda cuddly :D

Ai-chan do consider Ran as resemble as her sister Akemi, not once but twice. Ai-chan even addressed in her mind once, just say out once as a kid like Conan do won't cost you anything, please.

I don't get the complaint. Translating it as "neechan" if it's written "your girl at the detective agency" in the raw would be stupid.

Conan is definitely giving me Wizard of Oz vibes here.

Ran: Gasp, Shinichi's voice is coming from Conan's phone!
Conan: Uh... pay no attention to the man behind the bowtie!

either way, whether or not it goes anywhere, it looks like the beginning of a new suspicion arc for Ran's officially gonna be coming (it'd be surprising if it didn't), so yay!

Also I would like to point out that what you see on the last page is not the flash of Sera figuring out the nicknames or anything. There's something she sees in the window and goes "!?" at. Something indicated by "ãƒ

So there is someone else who knows about the Mouri Agency or is on a stakeout.
I hope it's not a sniper.

After this class I have time and will look both files thru again. Maybe I can find something.

Olive wrote: I don't think it's a sniper, because they'd have to be stupid enough to shine the laser scope right in Sera's eyes for her to notice.
generally, when the whole "light flash denotes the sniper's position" thing happens, it's not that they're shining the laser in the person's eyes, it's that the sun gets reflected in the scope into the person's eyes. This isn't exactly a "stupid" thing, because the angle the scope would have to be at to shine the sun into someone's eyes would be hard to determine exactly and could easily happen by accident.
