Well, all the female BOs' code names so far are wine-related, which indicates that this is in fact a rule. And pisco isn't female.

Also if Bourbon is a girl, why did Gin make no effort to correct Kir when she referred to him as "he" (kare)? I don't think "yatsu", which Gin uses to refer to Bourbon, is all that commonly used for girls either.

for all we know, if she's Bourbon, the whole "Sera's a guy" thing could extend to the BO as well.

Yayayayayay! Gah, I was so sure that Sera was a guy...and hey, he/she still might be! Though any guy who would dress up as a girl (In a miniskirt, no less) would have to be in pretty deep cover/shameless/sneaky/totally brilliant if they were in hiding.

Mmmm, she totally knows about Conan. Her little "Is right here good, Kudo-kun?" thing (which I think totally should have had a heart after it  ) was totally to try and trip Conan up. Luckily our chibi-tantei is too sharp!

All the ingredients for a Mary Sue are there. But I don't think Gosho is gonna use Sera for wish fullfillment. Unless the real Gosho was lost in the earth quake and has been replaced by some random female fanfic writer!

My theory, keeping with the Sera Masumi/Okiya Subaru/Moroboshi Dai/Akai line of thought:

Sera was in America. She heard that her brother (Akai), who was in the FBI, had died (there may have even been a funeral). However, she doesn't believe it. She researches some things, and finds out that this super-smart 7-year-old was somehow involved. She thinks that perhaps the 7-year-old is working together with her still-alive brother to hide the fact that he's still alive, and that the 7-year-old's deductions are actually coming from her brother. But when she hears that it's coming from this Kudou Shinichi guy, she figures out that something else is up, and then she notices Conan running off. Then she realizes that there's something seriously wrong with this 7-year-old. XD

We HAD a female detective before. Only problem was that it turned out that she was the murderer in the end. XD
So i doubt this will happen to Sera.
But i still hope that she´s with the BO to finally move the damm BO plot, also i found out that there´s a wine called *La Sera* so who knows?
Maybe her codename IS Sera? She introduced herself with only Sera after all unlike usually with both surname and first name. Hint? Hint?
