Oh, and as I've said before in my post on DCW:

I think that this mysterious guy is Akai's little bro. It would make perfect sense:
-both he and Akai have the same eye-thingy
-He's coming back back to search for his older brother, knowing that either Akai is alive, or for revenge against the BO.
-He knows Conan's name. Now, I know it seems highly unlikely, but what if- just what if- while during the Clash of Red and Black arc, Akai texted him/told him about Conan?

Yeah.. not many points, but you get the picture. (Hopefully)

Anyway, my money's on Eisuke. It would just be weird for Gosho to introduce another great detective at this point, and thus make the plot more complicated when he hasn't resolved anything for years.
And Eisuke is the only person who springs to mind who
a) knows Conan's name
b) is interested in mysteries
c) has a thing for Ran

Although it is weird for him to know Jeet Kune Do, but it's possible he already knew it before and just didn't show it.  But why didn't anyone recognize him? And why did he return?

Also: Why is there a Union Jack on Conan's trouser pocket? Is the new guy British? (Someone should have mentioned that he looks foreign then though) Or is there a connection with the London case apart from the initial conversation?  The hat might also be of relevance, it does look like Fusae's. What reason would she have to disguise herself as a guy though?

Anyways, on DCTP I voted 'just a new chara' I voted 6 options for this:

Just a new character
Shinichi's new rival (for love <3)
Haibara's hubby (just in case she and Conan don't end up together. ^^)

Akai's little bro makes the most sense for me. Why, you ask? My thesis:

- they both have the same thingy with the eyes

in my opinion...the guy is either eisuke or a new rival for shinichi...
the case is simple so i think gosho made it only to introduce the new guy...haha...if not, show that eisuke is back~!! XD
i've been waiting for a guy like him..i'm wishing for a cool guy with deep involvement (hopefully~!!) who would be a rival of shinichi for ran's affection (hope so~!!), i love seeing shinichi JEALOUS....XDD

She also stated that they checked his house and then did again a month later but everyone else that was given the drug had been confirmed. So probably people were given the drug before him if Gin called him a guinea pig.

Still, even if he was first, other people were given the drug and died and it was given to Pisco as a failsafe so it was proved as useful at that point. So still, taking just to become younger for a disguise is a bad move.

Lastly, if Gin did give Shinichi the first human test, then he's well... stupid. Don't test it first on a person who will clearly rat you out if it doesn't work.

You said "APTX was tested on people before Shinichi". I just denied it since Gin said that Shinichi is the first human test subject.
Of course, you can ignore that fact if you feel better that way <3

Whether it was a smart move of Gin or not, is another question. Considering it was the first chapter, Gosho probably didn't think it through 100% at that time anyway.

Haven't read it so I don't know the age (if the age has been specified in any way) but maybe he's the "ordinary citizen" bomber's lost son that ran away? He would likely pay a great deal of attention to anything involving the people who got his father arrested would do/say.

I think the picture of the son was shown in that case. Didn't look like that guy :V


I'd like to have a female detective rival actually (not love rival) :V There aren't many female detectives around or any females, that can deduct :/ Satou and  co aren't as useful/good anymore either :/

At profparanoia.... You know I'm pretty sure any agent of the law can learn and practice any martial art they want... If you were a marine and later became a detective, you wouldn't use police take down techniques as your primary mode of subduing someone, you'd use MCMAP. Or it could go the other way... He learned whatever techniques at Quantico and then decided to pick up JKD later. Or he could be a huge Bruce Lee fan and learned it for that reason. There are many possibilities, and as long as it works and is not illegal LEOs can use any style they want.

Yes, but then Esukie would have had to know JKD before, your agrument was that he was taught it when he joined which seems like an odd choice. Plus I don't think he's been in America to learn JKD on his own yet.

It seems likely that he could be British. Frankly, I think Subara is MI6, and/or the whole randomness with the old lady's cat "LETS GO TO LONDON!" thing was so that MI6 could see what Conan would do. I mean, if he doesn't actually enter the country then OH LOOK CONAN, then that's a sure giveaway that something's going on.

Since then the scientist who made it, heavily implied it was given to others first due to the fact they back checked Shinichi after others. And even though you use this to put me down, even if you did prove that Shinichi was technical the first human that was given the drug (but not recorded) that does not change the fact that generally the drug kills you and using it for a disguise is more trouble then it's worth.

Haibara said only a few of the rats shrunk, and I'm betting that has to do with age.

Iirc only one lab rat lived every other died, also it was tested on people after (minus ai) Shinichi and possibly before who all died as well.

Since Gin's out of context word is final law, here's an edit, if it will make you fell better that way.

Actually, that'd be pretty great, we could always use another female in the cast.

And I agree that most characters have become static/not as useful as the story is dragged out further. No offense to any of the other fans, but the only characters that seem to be still relatively dynamic would be the characters from the FBI, the BO members, and Conan. The other side characters seem dynamic in their respected sideplots, but in the overarching plot, not so much.

And speaking of overarching plot, I'm with mostly everyone else on hoping that this will be a BO/FBI plot moving case. And as for the JKD guy, I'd like to say he's an old character, but nothing immediately comes to mind that makes sense in my head. He does look like KID or a possible relative to Akai, but I guess we'll see in the next few chapters.

But I was never arguing about the fact that the drugs kills people or not. And never argued about the fact if Akai would take the drug or not. I said it's not possible that the new guy is akai because akai is taller. He can only be akai if he took the APTX, which makes the chance slim that the new guy is akai overall.
I just wanted to correct the "Humans took the APTX before Shinichi" statement
Don't know why you put in some other facts/arguments into that when no one is arguing about it (here or at least me).

Also I was responding to a person saying that he had a decent chance at living when he didn't and was mentioning the fact that even though gin and the org are both stupid by said argument. Someone also said that the only other human test was a guy who escaped.
