gonna be longer than that. everyone knows the middle chapter is always the evidence gathering gathering chapter, which means nothing significant. but who knows, maybe this will be different and plus that's only assuming this will only be three chapters long

i just went back and looked at the chapter again and it's weird because the first time the new guy speaks to Conan he calls him 'little boy' which would imply one of two things: either he really did find out his name through conversation with Ran and/or Sonoko or he didn't want Ran and Sonoko to know that he knew Conan's name already which would further the suspicion that he's a pre-existing character or some sort of agent that has info on him

I feel like people will be disappointed again. I'd personally rather not have too many expectations until everything is cleared up.

Honestly, I think JKD guy looks a bit like Yusaku... maybe he's actually a relative of Shinichi's? It would explain how he knew Conan's name at any rate. Maybe Yusaku and Yukiko called him up and were all, "Hey, Shinichi's gotten in a bit of trouble and we're kind of worried about him, but if we kept checking up on him he might tell Yusaku's publishers where he is, so do you think you could go and make sure he's okay?" Like that.

But without confirmation we only raise a hope that maybe doesn't exist.

I dunno...they seem to trust Shinichi a lot.  Besides, Agasa's more or less there to watch him.  Why bring someone else on the scene?  Besides, Shinichi respects his parents, they could just come to check up on him.  The only reason he called the publishers in the first place was cause they pretended to kidnap him.
No, I figure he's gotta be an old character disguised (although he looks pretty young, which narrows the field a lot) or he's new.  Frankly, as long as the plot moves I don't care! (Unless he tries to steal Ran.  That's forbidden!!!)

I never said he was Yusaku, just that he looked a bit like him (maybe it's just the hair circa "Wandering Red Butterfly"). But you never know. We don't actually know how the APTX shrinking works, but it seems generally accepted that it either turns people into kids or just shrinks them by ten years. Maybe it's actually proportional? The older you are, the younger you become, so 17 year old Shinichi can become 7 and Yusaku, who's in his forties, can become late teens/early twenties?
