And I don't want Ran and Shinichi to break up!
Those two are just too perfect.
GOSHO! DON'T DO IT!
Shouldn't a Kogorou fan (or Kogorou impersonator) say the opposite? xD
....
Shinichi may be a tantei brat but he is better than this silly person from the bus! And much better than Eisuke!!
Who know ?! Maybe this "silly person" will become a major character and win Ran's heart somehow, maybe this guy is Ran's true love.
Don't hate me for this, it's just my wishful thinking
As for Eisuke, yeah i agreed, this dude is way too sissy to be any girl's lover
"The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge,
he sealed his fate...
Entrusting his future to the cards,
man clings to a dim hope.
Yet arcana is the means by which all is revealed.
Beyond the Beaten Path lies the absolute end.
It matters not who you are, Death awaits you."

so... unless the author changed.... Ran Will marry Shinichi!
*happy*
Does anybody know where I can find Gosho? I need to talk to him. From Detective to Author. XD
I would be really upset if that would chance.
If you think ahead a bit what would happen?
Conan would have to move out and Kogorou would solve no cases anymore. He would of course but I don't want to find cats or dogs!
Ran appears to do Shotokan karate, if I had to say which style she does. Shotokan is not like Kyukoshin that is very upper body based, but more lower body based. I think over the years she has made her abilities more realistic too, especially when you must compare her to that Karate Champ she once encountered, and Sonoko's BF. As I said, I don't think any character in DC could beat this guy as it stands... His fighting style is too foreign for them. Sonoko's Bf and Ran both train for tournaments... Tournaments have rules... Those rules limit what you can do... If you can't do certain things and you face off against a person who is trained to do anything, the other person would win. The only two people who can beat him imo are Satou and that Karate guy who was arrested for covering for his girl (iirc). Satou because she was trained more in a street style (or at least that is what she practices) and that karateka, because he probably has far more experience and power to over take this new guy.
It is simple fact... Ran would have lost... Had she punched... JKD guy would have trapped her and hit her multiple times for her one punch... Honestly... JKD messed up or purposefully held back. Normally in that situation if you trapped her by blocking her kick you'd not punch once at a distance but bait, to bring her in and throw her or do something to close the gap. Very few fighters can effectively punch and connect at that distance against an experienced fighter. He must have known that since he knew she was the Kantou female champ.
Also... is it so strange that he would know their names after standing near them for so long? They might not have said anything in the file, but they were talking... We can make the following assumptions... 1) he was at the tournament, since it happened recently and he knew the outcome. 2) he was standing near them on the bus for some time. 3) he was within hearing range of them when they were in the hotel lobby. He could have found out Conan, Sonoko and Ran's name at any of those points in time. You don't need to be introduced to someone to know their name. Hell, he could have found out about conan through the paper too... You know one of the many times he faced off against kid. Everytime Kid makes the paper, and Sonoko's uncle is involved, Conan is there too.
if the meeting had been as impersonal as that he would have addressed him by his full name, Edogawa Conan. The fact that he used the honorific "kun" implies he knows a bit about him. either that or he already knows his identity and he addressed in that childlike manner to mock him. Either way I think there's a little more to the use of his name than simply eavesdropping

Not really... Conan is quite a bit younger than him. In japan you don't need to be formal with those younger than yourself.
not in most cases, but if we're assuming he recognized him due to his involvement with the KID cases then he would command a little bit more respect, even from someone older than him. And considering they hadn't formally met yet it's likely he would have addressed him using his full name at least as an introduction

Depends on the situation... I gave a few possibilities. It could be something else, I'm not denying that fact, but everyone seems to be jumping on the fact that he MUST know Conan some how.
I guess it's because deep down everyone wants this to be significant in one way or another. I personally wouldn't have thought anything of it if it hadn't been for the cover question. usually a jumping off point like that isn't just there
as long as this doesn't turn into a love triangle I'm open to anything
