Though... if this guy is a new character... I hope he does hit it off with ran... That way shinichi can hook up with Ai/Shiho! Those would totally be better match-ups!

Lol, though i agree with the last part i guess that Gosho would never try to anger the Ranichi-fans like that, he would lose his life in a matter of days. XDDD

Funny is that Sonoko teased Ran the 100 time now that Shinichi might hook up with another woman (still believe that this might happen once Ai and Conan gonna have a BO adventure as Shiho and Shinichi) and BAM -  we get a guy who admit that Ran is his type and Ran is impressed with his fighting skill. If he´s now as god-like as a detective like Shinichi, then he will have a seriously troublesome rival. That is if Gosho really plans to go that way.^^

Also how does that person knows Conan´s name? .<

i think she was a little sidetracked at the time of the kick however I do agree. She's lucky she was wearing a long skirt when she did the Axe Kick at the Rooster festival otherwise we might have gotten a front row seat to the peep show lol

In all seriousness though I think this may very well turn into a jealousy bit for Shinichi. As much as I don't like it that blush of Ran's shows she at least thinks he's attractive and the fact that he's a martial artist doesn't help matters.

My guess is however that in the end he'll ask her out or something and she'll reject in favor of giving Shinichi a call we can only hope

I'm realy convinced it is Eisuke in disguise...
for several reasons:

- If he just take off his glasses and let push his hair, he would look like the rival

- he surely learned that martial art with his father's CIA collegues

- He seems to be interested in that murder, and xe know Eisuke likes mysteries

- He says Ran is his type, and we know isuke had a crush on her

- How the heck dos he knows Conan's name?

But why would he disguise himself?  And I thought Eisuke already gave up about Ran.

At profparanoia.... You know I'm pretty sure any agent of the law can learn and practice any martial art they want... If you were a marine and later became a detective, you wouldn't use police take down techniques as your primary mode of subduing someone, you'd use MCMAP. Or it could go the other way... He learned whatever techniques at Quantico and then decided to pick up JKD later. Or he could be a huge Bruce Lee fan and learned it for that reason. There are many possibilities, and as long as it works and is not illegal LEOs can use any style they want.

At those complaining about Ran's kick... I'd like to point out a few things... 1) SHE NEVER KICKED! The guy stopped it before she got it off... All she did was swing her leg back (probably why JKD guy found it so easy to stop, though Gosho probably did that for dramatic effect... there is no way you could win a tournament kicking like that). The JKD guy kicked her knee effectively stopping her strike. 2) In the heat of the moment, I doubt she was worrying very much about people seeing her underwear. She'd probably have felt embarrassed AFTER she beat him (if she could, which I doubt), but during the fight, she can't be worried about that otherwise she'd have been knocked out by his punch... Besides, I think she was more surprised that he was able to prevent her kick than anything.

Also since no kicks were actually thrown... only JKD guys punch... I don't see how it would be dangerous for anyone on the bus unless they got in the way.

I'm more curious of how Ran could even consider kicking in that situation... or where all that extra space came from from her wind up...

Shinichi may be a tantei brat but he is better than this silly person from the bus! And much better than Eisuke!!
