but hasn't Agasa actually have been the Detective Boys' slave for the past 400 episodes? (I can only imagine what happened when he didn't show up to that fishing trip recently. He was probably beaten senseless by Genta's eels.  :(

also this last episode is very interesting. I'm interested in where it's going instead of just wondering what crazy stuff will happen next.

It's going to finish out the last 4 episodes that haven't aired from the original ending yet, and then that's it for now.  Might get into the awesome stuff in the Spring.

I know this. Why would you even think that I wouldn't? I am very dissappointed in you for thinking this.  :(

But seriously, considering how this series works, there are a few possibilities involving when the anime will continue again.

Will there be a new season relatively soon (soon as in within a year after Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody)? If so then they must really want to make sure the series is fresh in our minds (striking while the iron is hot I suppose), but there's the risk of catching up to the novels way too quickly (especially consdering the TBA date of light novel 10), which would require them to either wait for a while after the 4th or 5th season, or to just use OVAs instead.

Will there be a next season relatively soon with reruns like this season (except from now on the new episodes would all be after the reruns)? This seems more likely.

Will there be just a few episodes a year (like 5 or 6)? It would make some sense and they could basically animate 1 light novel a year I guess. I can't say whether this will work or not as I can't think of an anime that does this.

I like the 2nd idea the best. Especially since in season 4 they'll have more than a year's worth of episodes to show. (although I don't think even I would enjoy all 8 Endless Eights again)

I doubt they'd reair this season again, not as some sort of continuous story type of thing like they did this year.  They only did it this year to show the proper order of episodes, and fit things in where they were supposed to go.  Basically, KyoAni wants this to be "Season One+" rather than Season 2.

They won't continue immediately afterwards, as we already know Kiddy Grade 2 is taking Haruhi's time slot for the fall season.  They pretty much have to do either a winter or spring season (13-14 episode cour) or a movie at this point.  A lot of people are expecting a December release movie.

well I have to admit that I am hoping KyoAni will think of an idea so that they don't catch up to the current light novel because having to wait three years for a season again would suck.

Of course, they could also have a decent amount of filler episodes...

season 3 should be Dissappearance, Snowy Mountain Syndrome and some filler. That would work.

That'd probably be good for a 13-14 episode season.  Just use some of the short stories to fill out the last couple episodes that the other two don't cover.

ok two things I want kyoayi to do

A) MAKE ANOTHER SEASON OF Full Metal Panic ALREADY
B) Do a full season of haruhi rather this constant half season stuff already.

I've heard FMP is awesome so I probably approve of that.

And 14 episodes is considered a full season. If they did twice as much, they would catch up to the light novels way too quickly. There are 9 light novels out. They have covered the first 3 light novels, 2/3 of the 5th one and 2/5 of light novel 6. And remember, Someday in the Rain was filler and Endless Eight in the light novels only showed one loop instead of 8 different loops.
