About that last one (okay, I still believe Okiya is Akai, so people who don't support that theory, bear with me k?): maybe Okiya suspected Scar Akai to be Bourbon, but discovered in some way it's not him. Akai (= Okiya) has known Bourbon from before, and if they knew each other very well he would be able to tell whether or not Scar Akai is Bourbon.
Sorry to reply to a million-years-old comment (~3 days old), but I actually thought that Okiya was trying to see if the person was Vermouth, not Bourbon. When someone is wandering about in disguise, I would suspect her first. Okiya found himself surprised otherwise, hence his comment about the mixup.
Due to Gin using difficult grammatical constructions which are confusing to the poor translators, I am not sure what Gin meant by the Sherlock Holmes quote and thus am waiting to stand corrected, but it sure sounded like Gin said that the person he saw was that detective-like person who always acts on his own: aka scar Akai = Bourbon. Darn it Gin, less talking in riddles more stating things unambiguously please! I'll give it another chapter or two to be safe, but since Gin has lowered his gun, I think this is a passive confirmation on his part that he thinks scar-Akai isn't the real deal. In any case, I doubt Gin could see inside the store well enough to see Okiya and Jodie since they weren't in Chianti's line of sight either.
Too bad I was wrong about scar-Akai not using his own phone. It would be an interesting trap if scar-Akai planned on having the FBI or Mouri family take the phone. While both the real Akai and Bourbon would use a cloth to keep their fingerprints off the phone, scar-Akai handed it back in his right hand. Coupled with the gun from the bank robbery case, I think it is clear that scar Akai prefers his right hand.
I wonder what Vermouth was trying to imply about the boss with her modified expression. According to Miyano-sama:
(NOTICE: 石橋を叩いて渡る literaly means: "Strike the stone bridge, and then cross it"
This expression is something like:
Think well before you decide ** make assurance double sure ** Better safe than sorry
Vermouth changed the expression a little bit into "If you beat the stone bridge too much, it would break"
The way Vermouth phrased it, it seems she is implying boss is ... overly cautious to the point of ridiculous? I'll hold back my judgments until a finalized translation comes out. Although I can't read it, it looks like the Chinese release made a comment about the phrasing as well. If anyone fluent in Chinese wants to comment on this further they can see the relevant page in the spoiler box.
I wonder where the next chapter will take us? Assuming scar Akai is Bourbon, he has one person left to appear before as scar Akai: James Black. (I'm ignoring all the other nameless FBI members) There aren't any more leads to follow where dressing up as Akai will be useful unless he wants to fish randomly. After that, Bourbon has two remaining leads to investigate. One is questioning the involved Syndicate members: Kir and maybe also Gin if the footage of Akai being shot wasn't recorded. The other lead Bourbon has is the police investigation. If Bourbon were to look into it for inconsistencies, (which there are several. See the long Akai thread.) he would come to the cell phone. Even though Jodie claimed it was her phone, therefore keeping Conan removed from the situation, Conan's fingerprints will be on the phone and thus recorded by the police. If Vermouth can steal police records, it is possible Bourbon might as well.
