Well, I just pre-ordered Durarara!! Part 1 DVD from Rightstuf.com! I'm also glad to hear someone say "It puts Funi dubs to shame!" since this is AniplexUS first series they are dubbing!

BTW, is the manga licensed here in the states?  I want to pick up the light novels, as well, lol
A season 2 would be fantastic, however there seems to be like, no information regarding so..but, like I said, a lot of stuff is still unanswered. 

Also, apparently there's some sort of internet meme about making parodies of Durarara's 1st ending; there's a bunch of parodies up on youtube, and even more on niconico, but those are in Japanese and I have trouble finding them >_<

Celty, Shinra, and Izaya are pretty freakin cool.  I agree that there is a lot left behind it seems.

The whole "arc", if you can call it that, about Celty's head was satisfying I guess - she gave up her goals of obtaining her memories for love, how romantic :O.

Izaya kept reminding me of Ryuk from Death Note, with his whole "humans are so interesting!!" attitude.  Badass parkouring cutthroat psychopath.

Regarding the police officer, yeah...I was a bit annoyed by that, he only shows up really twice.  Same with Shizou's brother!  I'm sure they play much important roles later in the novel/manga, but the anime was cut-short, which I have no idea why.

Regarding the series itself, it started off fantastically, simply because IMO Celty's story is the best out of all the characters.  Around episode 16ish, it got kind of weird...with Anra being the Slasher, and the whole gang war. *shrugs, it was a good series, but I believe it could have been a lot better if those last couple episodes weren't as rushed and confusing really.

I totally want a second season, apparently the anime only covered 3 of the light novels out of 8, and the series still isn't even done yet.  Also, has anyone read the manga, I'd really like to pick it up..how is it?

And some interesting news - In February, the final DVD set for Durarara will be released in Japan that will contain episodes 25-26, which are some sort of epilogue.

Well, I'm still hoping for a 2nd season because I always like to see a legitimate ending for each series.

I agree with what you said about the very first arc with Celty's head. It kind of threw me off when it turned to gang war. I didn't mind the revelation about Saika = Anri since it was quite unexpected to me. I was actually quite annoyed by that police officer. i felt that he was just thrown into the story with no purpose, but that's just me. For me, my favorite character has to be Heiwajima Shizuo. He's just that awesome.

Durarara is a light novel, that was made into an anime and manga.  The light novel currently has 8 volumes, the anime (so far) has ended with 24 episodes with their first season that only covered 3 volumes of the books.  The manga is FUBAR at least for english readers because the translators dropped it.

It's a pretty legit series.

I didn't like Seiji and that stalker girl either. They annoy me. Mikado is alright, but out of the three main characters (Mikado, Anri, and Kida), I like Kida the best.

I just think it went with the pink 'motif'. After all, Valentines Day is coming up. I actually find both the two of them and Seiji's sister creepy all together.

I don't know why, but even after Izaya has lied to a little girl (Akane, who is adorable and I feel absolutely sad for her.) I still seem to like him. Also, Kururi and Mairu ftw.
