I swear it just degenerated into endlessly powering up Tessaiga with ever more ultimate moves, and when they ran out of ideas for that they started powering up Hirakotsu. Then they started on Tenseiga... I was like "YOU CAN SHOOT FRIGGIN DIAMONDS, SMASH ALL SHIELDS, AND SPIT UNHOLY FIRE AND LIGHTNING! AND IN THE END YOU KNOW IT'S GOING TO BE A HOLY ARROW THAT KILLS THE BASTARD ANYWAY! SO JUST GO DO THAT!"

This went on for several years, and while I only got into InuYasha in its last couple of years, it still drove me genuinely berserk. All the quirkiness of the original chapters was gone, and there was just an escalating angst and overcompensating sword scale that was being climbed.

I really don't want to hate DC as much as I was starting to hate IY before they finally got a clue and finished the Shikon No Tama so they could get on with the final battle.
The problem is...well....

Pretty much.

Oh, I don't know, InuYasha at its best at least gets up there with the half-decent literature and Conan :P admittedly, almost all of THAT was within the first nine of the 56 volumes...

maybe but that would require me to say something positive about Inuyasha so you are wrong. :)

I'm certain it's still not up to Conan, but nothing really is.

I thought that case 759 would have been about Bourbon, I was so disappointed that it was about Detective Boys small case that doesn't mean anything except to stalling the development of the main story arc.

Aoyama Gosho is sure is stalling the story arc because the end is near and that's why he writes "insignificant" stories for quite some time.

I really do hope all of them end up being hilariously too relevent to future plot stuff. That would make me laugh for many reasons.

Also, I love how there's a topic in the general Conan forum, about Gosho researching for stuff at some show he will be acting in and NO ONE HAS MENTIONED IT IN THE TOPIC ABOUT FIGURING OUT WHAT GOSHO IS RESEARCHING.

I wonder how many tries they need to get around to it...

So are you agreeing with me or not because it's become impossible to figure out when you're being serious or not.

Well, iirc everytime a main character is ill either he goes back to the body of an high schooler, reminds of something from the past or the BO appears... Let's not give up yet :-P

it would be amazing if it end up Shinichi (Conan turn back to high schooler form) is the one who solve the case, and the kid is a son of BO member.

yeah I stopped paying attention AT ALL to what's going on in the last few cases of the manga (even compared to what little I know about other recent cases) but I'll the first one to be pissed off at Gosho if the Bourbon arc doesn't start wrapping up soon. At least, if I find out the Bourbon arc doesn't start wrapping up soon.

I had had to stop reading DC from July until November and when I found DCTP and started reading DC again, I realized I only missed 2 short non-story arc and the (super long) London case, and Bourbon arc had not been mentioned for half a year or so! It's about time to continue Bourbon arc once more.

Detective Conan has too many fillers, without them we would have finished the story by now...
Spoiler:
but DC is too awesome to just finish so soon

Well, this manga is 90% filler anyway (not that it's bad). The BO is more a plot device explaining why a kid is solving cases than anything else. And frankly, at this point, I couldn't care less about it. The weekly file, be it filler, satisfies me just fine.

Welcome.  ;)

I`m satisfied with most of the DC cases. only a few of the filler cases have been deemed as blawh in my book. the only longer arc i have some beef with is the london arc with some of the ShinRan stuff and the fact that two characters appeared out of nowhere. (well one appeared out of nowhere, one was hinted at)
Anyway. i wait to see the most recent arc with baited breath.

as for what Gosho may research on his breaks. I don`t know. It could be because of movie releases, vacations, time off, advertising, helping with some other DC related area.

Some arcs have had some benefit from theses breaks. eisuke for example.
