Before anyone complains about another Okiya/scar-Akai thread, this is a follow-up to the poll in this thread with some new options added to account for other possibilities people have brought up since. You can change your vote at any time. I thought it would be interesting to see how opinions have changed to account for the revelations of the 13 red t-shirt/dark contact arc. So vote already.

The other threads have already shown, what they think is right. The story discussion subsection is already filled with, "Akai is _____" threads.

You don`t expect people to post their threads here, do you?

Besides the point. There aren`t enough evidence to point to any of them. Just little petty arguements saying that, ____ is not _____ because "they don`t look alike," or _____ is not _____ because "one has expensive glasses".

However, enough evidence points that Akai is not dead, and if you need me to evaluate on that, one of my older threads are still around here.

I'm not trying to make a point with the poll. I'm curious to see how many people think what. You can't gauge that from discussion threads alone. The point is the poll, not the discussion. In my above post I stated already I am following up an earlier poll to see how the opinion has shifted since the last scar Akai arc. If I could post a poll in another prexisiting thread, I would do it, but I can't. So deal with it.

That's my guess, and I DO hope I'm wrong because it'd be too easy if it were true.

...too easy? I don't think so. It was the actually hardest to prove

There's actually a lot to be done like checking Okiya's name pun, the crime scene in the falls, Conan's reactions... and lots more to come up w/the whole theory.

The common instinct should be Okiya=Bourbon since it explicitly shows in the anime/manga that he has good detective skills, has the 'evil presence' Haibara senses, drinks Bourbon (lol), and smiles like the devil after seeing Akai. I think Okiya=Akai is more of a twist than Okiya=Bourbon

^ Yeah! I would find it more interesting if Okiya = Akai, because it wouldn't add up if it went Okiya = bad guy. Plus, a lot of clues between the meanings of Akai and Okiya's names make it even more possible.

And the way I see it right now, Gosho seems to be playing it as Okiya = Bourbon in some way with that out-in-the-open Bourbon bottle. But who knows... Bourbon could be a good guy playing a bad guy using the "I hate Akai" as an alibi and is really Okiya anyways... But, maybe he does hate Akai but not as an evil hate (but a jealous hate). Or what am I saying? We can't have twice the same plot again of a good guy working within the BO... No wait, we technically do have two good girls working in the BO already. Too many other good guys getting in would out-weigh evil. Bourbon might be the real evil on top of Gin. (Then, that would make the story kinda predictable....)

I think it would be twisty if Okiya = Vermouth, "Akai" = Rena, and Rena = Akai! >D Really get into the gender-bending mode here. All three would be in the loop unknown to the B.O. and Gin since he wouldn't expect his target under his nose. Oh, and Conan would be technically in the loop knowing that Okiya = Vermouth but doesn't know the rest of the plan...   Blah... Too much speculating!

Anything can go with Gosho! >.< Which is why, I didn't vote in this poll.

I just hope Okiya =/= Bourbon or I'll be disappointed. =.= Maybe, Bourbon won't make his appearance, yet?  Edit: Now that I think of it further, we made a billion variations of how this could go. Gosho would have to really think out of the box for the outcome to not match any of our guesses. O.o (But of course, he's only human.)

Yes:

1) Just like Rena said, Bourbon has high deduction skill and Okiya has it.
2) Ai-chan has a feeling that he was a BO member

No:

1) Will Conan really foolish enough to let BO member to live his house
2) Okiya is drinking Bourbon, why he drinks his an alcohol with his own name from BO unless it is a trap to making us to remove him from being suspicion of Bourbon

Akai with scar

Yes:

1) The plan of imitating Akai is to confuse FBI
2) He acts without permission from Gin

No

1) Why he wants to imitate to Akai, the person he hated, this may risk himself from being mistaken as Akai who is still alive and killed under the order from Gin. Unless this is his real identify
2) Why he saved Conan from being killed by robber in bank. There's no way the BO member except Vermouth helps Conan and Conan didn't do any favor for Bourbon at all

3rd Person

Neither Okiya nor Akai with scar is Bourbon, it will be 3rd person who didn't appear yet, but Gosho maybe tired to create another spotlight character other than BO boss. He should be inside the department store somewhere, otherwise how do he know about 13 red T-shirts.

The biggest question of all 3 persons above is how do he know Kogoro's handphone number since they didn't meet Kogoro at all. Since Conan didn't tell them about Kogoro.

It's interesting, that so many here just said "please not Okiya = Akai" but the votes show like the most are expecting Okiya = Akai.

I voted for Okiya is someone else and Akai is Vermouth. I like that idea.

hmmmmm, i don't think so! just  look at the way conan talk with okiya and how he trust okiya,even after knowing that a new member is on the move("a holmes fan can't be a bad person",he let okiya living in his house,next to haibara and the professor...),it's pretty clear that he can't be bourbon!
and okiya appeared just after akai's "death"(a death which doesn't make conan sad,on the contrary)!
just the attitude of conan toward him shows that okiya isn't a bad guy,and the way he interact with okiya looks like the way he talk to akai!

so without making a real good and complicated  theory about how akai faked his death... even the most stupid fan(like me)can conclude that okiya=akai without any proof!a lot of poeple think the same,and they're not in this forum!

that's why i would't like if okiya=akai, i want that gosho surprise me with something completely different than this!

moreover,gosho has already used the trick "the supposed BO member drink his fav alcoohol isn't bad in the end"it's time to change this logic!
