...is there something else? Ran stopped blushing after only a couple pictures, Conan stayed that way for a while. That's all I was trying to say, and that I didn't find Ran's blush all that suspicious. It wasn't really that big, anyway. Am I really missing something between-the-linesy going on?

In my opinion, these 2 kidnappers are employees named Uemura from Isobe Corporation who is the former resident of Room 2806. The motive of kidnapping Urafune is for money to settle for tax payment.

On an even more serious note: At least it's not the same formula as ever. I think Ai will let the DBs 'solve' this case, because she's not as self-absorbed as our protagonist.

I was surprised a bit over Ai. I was surprised that she didn't find something odd with the boy because of the way that he was acting. If I saw a kid adamantly saying that "these people are not my parents", I wouldn't think that the kid is playing a prank, but that the kid is in some real trouble...but, at the same time, she is the cautious type and it is a bit in-character for her to investigate before fully jumping to conclusions, I suppose.
That aside, how many 6 year olds know about Tax Evasion? The way Mitsuhiko just came out and said he knew of the trouble was just so unnatural to me. lol
For this case, I think the DBs are going to get helped in some way. I couldn't see them getting through this alone, but I don't think it's going to be because of Conan, and I really hope not too. I like the fact that he's not there to help. Like others, I do hope that Okiya shows up in some way just to get a reaction out of Ai. I also hope that Ai is the one to take on Conan's role completely.

okay, I've barely caught up , but I would much prefer for Okiya to be the one to save them, too. Just to see some other development other than Conan's ego

there was discussion earlier about the genetic differences between the kid and the "parents", so people have been discussing the case itself but people seem more interested in who's gonna come to their rescue anyway.
