^This.
The way they kept referring to themselves as "Father"(tousan) and "Mother"(kaasan) in front of the others was unusual, as if they were trying to leave an impression on purpose. All the conversation about the genetic traits also are not the usual things you'd talk about in a situation like this. It only makes you sound fake and unnatural.

The reason Conan may realize that this kid is in fact in trouble is because of Masao saying that he doesn't know who the "Bad Guys" are that claim to be his parents. I kinda figure that if this was only a case of a kid who tends to misbehave he would have ended up probably just screaming and crying after being picked by his parents. The parents would likely be really ticked off and humiliated if their kid were to act in such a manner; even if this were a frequent thing to occur it would still be embarrassing. Yet none of this happens. Since Masao specifically said what he did and his so-called parents didn't even bat an eye at this is maybe one reason Conan thinks Masao is telling the truth. I don't know how common place this is but my mother taught both me and my brother that if someone we didn't know was trying to take us away we were taught to yell "This is not my mom! This is not my dad! Call the police!" She knew to teach us this because if we to just scream and struggle that it could be used against us and a kidnapper could just say we were throwing a tantrum as an excuse to get spectators to not see this as suspicious.

I voted for Conan, but not physically. I think he may call someone to go and save them since he might guess too that they wont listen to him.

Well, may be it is just me, but Ran seemed to be acting weird towards Conan.

Yeah. I think they also tried to avoid using some names or their names. Since either they didn't know the parents names or they wanted to avoid making a mistake.

Well she was blushing for some reason... I'm not sure if that's what they meant by "acting weird" though.

What are you referring to?  That she was checking his fever?
I dunno, she wasn't blushing that much for that long.  Conan however... :D

Are you referring to the way she checked his temperature? She checked it the same way Shinichi checked her temperature in the NYC case.

Oh dear Gosho-sama.  Please let the DB actually solve the case please please please please.

Though with Ai-chan there she'll probably be the one solving it, not that I mind.  Gosho is probably afraid of giving out a bad message to kids if the DB solves a case by themselves (Hey kids go face down murderers by yourselves!  You can do it!).  Ai-chan fearlessly knocking on the door of suspected criminals is okay because she's an adult aparently.  She probably have a plan of some sort...though why she's bringing the DB along is strange.
Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar
