[Side-note -- These are my own thoughts]

In the first movie, it's revealed that red is Shinichi's favorite color. So for those who watched the first movie, the allusion to red would also make sense as the clash of Shinichi and the BO.
I'm with you on this one.  ;) Besides, the arc ended with Akai appearing to die.(Okay, I'm one of those who refuse to believe it).
So I guess, in this clash, red got beaten by black, huh?

Akonyl wrote: I mean, it could be blood as the obvious imagery would say, however it's not really like it's "blood vs the BO".

there's also the sentences in the starts of the episodes like "running in the darkness, a red scream and a black shot", but I never quite got what they were getting at there

I also thought that it might stand for the red/black colors used in boardgames like chess and checkers, but that's never explicitly stated either

or perhaps the fbi is red for some reason?

so, did I just miss something there or what?
I haven't read through this thread, so if I'm repeating anything, sorry.  I felt that the "red" part had to do with blood, as in Rena and Eisuke being blood siblings and all that and how, in a way, it is their family vs BO for that arc.  Well, I guess what I truly mean is that there is a connection.  Eisuke > Rena > their father.  A blood tie that clashed with the BO since Rena's father died protecting her, and then we know how she technically wanted out as well.

Okay, I like this theory.  Makes a whole lot of sense, too.

man I just saw this story arc (13 episodes long)

I have to say, it was FRIGGIN AWESOME

10+ back to back episodes regarding the Black Organization is awesome, could of had more Ai in em, but the "lolicon" part was good hehe XD
Spoiler:
I was real sad when Akai died though :(, cuz he never got to talk to ai, i was hoping they would bond because of the relationship with her sis
did anyone enjoy the story arc as much as I did?

PLUS, the opening for this mini-series was AWESOME!! thank god there was finally one with no lovey dovey ran shinichi crap, it was so badass with the FBI, CIA, BO, eisuke, haibara, and conan
ending was cool as well, eisuke looks like a badass when hes in the openings (makes him look all evil and stuff)

hmm i think "Red" pertain to FBI while "Black" pertain to the B.O
the title suggest that there is a clash between red and black and in the story arc its clearly emphasize about the war between the good and evil.
