Hm...here's a theory everyone.  Every time Shinichi has had a chance to tell Ran how he feels, usually something happens to prevent it.  Think that it's because Gosho is trying to keep the whole Shinichi x Ran/Conan x Ai thing going by not making Shinichi x Ran a definite thing?

Ai fans and Ran fans please calm down.. i think we should look at this matter in a peaceful manner..

as the topic title implies, this is a discussion for all who like conanXai pairing.. many have said that they sense something between the two and would like to see them end up together.. also that the interaction between the two is much more interesting than shinXran.. this is only opinion based, so there is actually no need to quarrel unless someone intentionally insults another.. and there is no need to add fuel to the oil by insulting back..

in my opinion, i like moments between conanXai and also shinXran.. both relationships are very different from each other.. as of this moment.. conan knows that he loves ran and that he wants to turn back to shinichi and be with ran.. this is the only point that is clear to me right now.. so unless gosho have something unexpected happening in the future.. for example, there is no antidote or that he realises that he doesn't love ran after all [strictly examples only].. otherwise it is clear as of now that the ending should be that conan turn back to shinichi and be with ran..

You still don't get it. Ai/Conan fans are not fans because they think AI will be with CONAN. They are fans because they think Ai SHOULD be with Conan instead. Me personally, I am more interested in Conan/Ai's "friendship" than I am Ran/Shinichi's "romance." Whether Conan will end up with Ran will not reverse everything that happened and all that Conan/Ai have been through together: shrinking, hiding their identity, on the run from the BO, wanting to give in (Ai by killing herself, Conan by telling Ran) but not doing so, and many other things that contribute to their growth, whether LOVERS or FRIENDS, I find their relationship more interesting.

I'd probably kill myself if conan/ai happened in the end. With how much they've dangled the shinichi/ran pair in our faces, if that just slipped away without any resolution I think I'd have have an stroke.

As for leaving ai to emotionally rot, I don't really think she's that romantically interested, and that it's more of just being fondly amazed by conan's whole attitude towards helping people, tracking the organization and life in general, compared to her background and how she just wants to run away from everything.

don't worry!coai won't happen,so there's no reason for shinran fan tobe afraid of the ending!i thing that this topic was made cause a lot of people likes coai and have seen a great  chimestry between them,which is maybe not a lovey dovey relationship like shinran,but a great and strong relationship ,mostly because they share the same experience and have a lot of adventures together!but it's not a topic saying"who will be with shinichi in the end"!but it's just that there's a lot of people like me(and even more in japan)who love the coai relationship,mostly because gosho suggested that possibility with  a lot of scenes in the manga,the movies and the second live action!there something between them,it's not a romantic love,but it's something really touching ,mouving and unexpected(a detective and an ex criminal!you see the irony!) and that's exactly why i like them!if it was a lovey dovey relationship in order to let ran alone in the end,i wouldnt't like coai!on the contrary ,it's a relationship which is more and more stronger,based on complicity and trust(and sarcastic remark!)which shows that they are themselves and naturals when they're together,they don't hesitate to said what they think,criticize each other but they help and care a lot of each other(you can't say that conan don't care alot for ai,or else you haven't  read the manga enough to see that)!   but that's only my opiion,it won't change the story that gosho made,and the coai ambiguous relationship made part of the story since gosho himself created that!the manga isn't fisnished for now,so there's no reason to fight!

Have any of you ever seen an ex-criminal close to a detective? I haven't! Not in anime or in any movie or show really.....

Well, men are different from women. Plus, Ran is obsessed with Shinichi. Some girls are like that, and most girls who only love one, don't have a "roaming of the eyes..." Shinichi loves beautiful women...that's why I was at first reluctant of his intent with Ran...as much as she love him for the right reasons, does he love her for her "looks"?

You know, maybe Ran's character really is a stereotypical Libran.  Librans are known to be loyal and all that.  Getting right down to it...I'm a bit like Ran in that regard when it comes to guys.  My interest in guys may come across as "non-existent", and if a guy does come along, more than likely, he's done something to cause admiration, not a romantic liking.  I guess until she knows there's no hope with Shinichi, she'll never let go.  She may view other guys in a "new light" once she does "let go".

Ahhh, this is my subject and another point I was trying to make. With that being said She is October 2, which means she's a Libran, with Venus and Moon as her ruling planets. Meaning she's into having a partner and finding her true love, very diplomatic, and gracious, but the moon makes her very emotional and clingy...the stereotypical Libra and planet for the person born on the second of every month......

Shinichi is a Taurus (like me) and his ruling planet is Venus and Uranus. The stereotypical of a Taurus and the plant for the person born on the fourth of every month. He is loyal, determined, hardworking, but as Uranus a little unconventional, freedom-loving, likes the freedom to be himself and do his own thing, etc, etc....

Or one just likes the dynamic with the two or find the pairing an interesting one.  I can honestly say that I've never felt that any two "should be" together.

I remember mentioning that a while ago since I'm a Libran too (October 6).  The more I read/watch this series, in this particular regard, the more I realize how much like Ran's character I am.  If I like a guy, my eye doesn't "wander" and do try to approach most things in a diplomatic manner.  Only difference, is that I'm not very emotional.  Not "girly emotional".  I'm more so a tomboy.

I am seriously agreeing that Ran/Shinchi is a dragging romance and so boring....that ending would make me sick! I'm hoping for some "New Love" as well from ShinAi. ^^ The closer they get the more excited I get and thats a lot cause I'm a harsh critic on Romance. Ran's ending will be totally sappy and stupid and expected. Its so obvious how thats going to end. It makes me sick thinking about it....and it will show japanese love in a new light. I mean you guys ever notice that all the sweet innocent girls seem to get love but the girls who are tougher just end up being loners? Tough girls need love too. That shows a very stereotypical view of how women should be to have romance.

You forgot the basic Con/Ai..and the ones highlighted are a bit weird eccentric, 17yr old Shinichi with 7yr Ai or 18yr? Shiho with 7yr Conan........very eccentric, .

Actually, now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind seeing Shiho/Conan because that would mean that out of poor luck Ai was able to restore herself but Conan wasn't and she would mock him forever by commenting on how short he is or just randomly picking him up cause she can, would be funny scenes.

Yeah me too. But unfortunately Ai is the "Irene Adler" in the DC-story, the one woman who tease the main chara and is good with messing his head and also is able to keep his attenion for quite a while, but we all know how Adlers and Holmes relationship went...

Also i want to see what Shinichi will do when he and Shiho get their old bodies back and had defeted the BO - will he or will he not hand her over the police, cause as long as she wasn´t juged by a court she´s still a criminal who invented a poison which killed x people and who knows what else she may have done for the BO in the past... I don´t think you can gain your "code-name" with some good (okay, in her case awesome) grades in chemie.  8)

It´s also true Ai and Conan have a... unique relationship, i can hardly remember another one who´s almost like them. (Yeah, i have read enough mangas to be able to write that XD)

Now that you mentioned it...
Shiho has spent most of her life in the organization,dunno the age when she started oficially working for the BO, but has Shiho had another work/project besides APTX4869??
I don't remember she had another job besides the drug...
With that in mind... maybe the APTX 4869 is the only scientific project(really doubt it) or the most important project for the BO.
Haibara doesn't name any other project like this...soooo,she hasn't worked in other scientific project...
well,this could be because the BO doesn't want their members to know all the projects...
there is a whole bunch of possibilities from here
To summarise, I think there's a lot we don't know about Ai(Maybe she had more family in the BO  ) and I hope that rather sooner than later we could get a surprise or two

I think haibara and conan have a lot more chemistry than kudo and ran....Haibara just makes every episode so much better!!  I mean, with Ran it gets really boring, she's always crying for shinichi

I feel that it just probably comes across that way since, in all fairness, for the manga and the anime, we don't really get to see much Shinichi and Ran interactions.  Everything is usually mentioned in passing.  We actually get to see Conan and Ai interactions since they've been put in a situation where they have to be around one another.

True. If i´m right, we only have four or five ShinihixRan moments so far. Most of the time in manga/anime it´s Conan and Ran and that would be kinda gross when that would be totally romantical. XD
Ai and Conan have it easier cause of the fillerepisodes with the DBs or when the BO shows up.^^
