Just guessing but maybe:

1. A lot of jokes in the anime are "inside jokes".  For example references to popular Japanese game shows.  I guess those jokes won't make much sense...

2.  There are also jokes that require some knowledge of the Japanese language.  Puns and so forth.  Those won't make sense either.

3.  The manga is straighter to the point then the anime by far so it makes sense.  If you just watch the anime it can get confusing pretty quick.

4.  The series can have it's serious side it's not just plain humor.  (I like the series side actually )

I think Akonyl meant that she power watches shows that are completed. I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that Conan isn't finished is the only reason Akonyl hasn't power watched all of it.
