Actually, they're not mutually exclusive.
I had a countertenor in to perform an aria for the class and talk about castration, which freaked the crap out of them, and then I got to talk about how that aria (a teenage boy role singing about suddenly finding women attractive) would actually usually be sung by a crossdressing woman in the 18th century. (I did it myself in undergrad. XD) Plus other cool historical stuff.
You'd think that, but the pr0n lectures are not fun for very long. Especially when your professor is clearly very uncomfortable with the whole thing. :l
