Gosho has done a one chapter case, chapter 594. It was that one from Mouri's perspective where he attempts to escape the kids to avoid giving them new year's envelopes. Even worse it was the chapter right before red vs. black started...
Chapter 594 is the first chapter in 2007, so using New Year as an inspiration is reasonable.
im thinking (or maybe hoping, rather) that 699 might be a short case, but at the end it is revealed that it's not the end of the case yet because the BO is somehow involved. OR, maybe, it's the beginning of a case where Okiya is involved and at the end something is revealed about him, thus being a prologue to a BO arc... because im preeeetty darn sure he's related to either the FBI or the BO (yes im subtly referring to the various theories flying around about him).

i hope yhe same thing!!!!we really need to know some news about them,their aim and more about gin ,bourbon and the boss!!!!and also about miyano's family!!(there still a lot of mysteries about them,i really want to know what ai's mother said in the tapes!!)

well, there are some spoilers saying that the BO case will be about AKAI!!! (hope it's this way)

and 699, there will be ayumi remembering seeing Akai or so, see the spoiler...
I'm hoping for a fight sequence (or at least, another shootout). However, this is impossible since Conan has to fight the BO without showing his face. I just want more action (like the Movie 5 car escape).
Well, the day that Conan faces the BO in person would probably be in the concluding arc. There better be an FTW fight sequence which includes the FBI, CIA, police, Hattori, Kazuha, Ran, Okiya (if he's not BO), Detective Boys (that would be hilarious), and Kaito Kid (wishful thinking).
