Ah, that's a good point Chekhov.  I didn't think of that at all.

No it will not be the final arc. That would be incredibly stupid.

I think it was be interesting if the old guy was Bourbon dressed up with the purpose of outing Akai because of the prexisting hatred and belief that Akai was a traitor. It fits with Bourbon's known dress-up ability, and if he was only made a codenamed agent recently, then he might have been low ranked enough to take the risky, dirty work of potentially being captured by the FBI if Akai's meet with Gin went wrong.
It's true that disguising abilities would make him a possible suspect, but he only needs to have these disguising abilities if he didn't look like Akai in the first place. If my "they're brothers" theory is correct then there is nothing to indicate such abilites.
I don't find it all that unlikely that the old man IS an old man. Pisco wasn't exactly youn either.

I don't think there is a resemblance at all. :P The face shapes and features are rather different. Of course disguising could change all of that.

Yeah, they don't look as similiar as I hoped they would. Unfortunately, this is the only old man that was ever mentioned in connection with the BO and I kinda wanted it to be him. :P
I don't think there's another BO member that can disguise themself like Vermouth can. The only people in DC who are capable of doing that are somehow connected to Toichi Kuroba.
Well, there might be other apprentices of his, and you've brought up the involvement of magicians before, but....where was I going with this again?
Anyway, the reason I sill think it's possible that these are the same old men, is that in the 50 volumes between the two pictures, Gosho's drawing style had changed quite a bit. And like you, I suspect that that old man may have been introduced for a reason, even if he's neither Anokata nor Bourbon.

No.
With Gosho's style, I think a 1000th chapter is possible. Seriously.

Nah, it'll probably be about 900 chapts.

The Bourbon arc will not be the final arc. Second to final? Possibly. The final arc will, stated by lots of people before me, be the Agasa Anokata arc.

It can never be the final arc  :P
What the Bourbon arc can do is, as mentioned by some of you, provide valuable information to lead the story to Anokata arc. That's a possible purpose of Bourbon arc itself.

(Was too lazy to read the last 2 pages, so this may have been said already)
I think it's possible, but not likely, and if it is, it will require Gosho to make the arc a LOT longer than it already is. Just considering the amount of questions that need to be answered and subplots that need to be tied up, I think there will still be at least one more arc. I do however think there will be a fare amount of things explained in this arc however.

I think it's more likely that it will lead to the last 1/3 or 1/4 or even 1/5 of the series where an arc leads to another and eventually gets to the finale stuff. If there is any time for Gosho to permanently increase the plot and decrease cases, now is pretty much the last logical opportunity to do so.

I was having a discussion with some people on facebook about Bourbon and they replied with a: Who is Bourbon?…It's been so long since he's been relevant that I don't even blame them.
