lol You know, I bet it's better to imply arousal with a nosebleed than having something more obvious and embarrassing happen. ;)  Lucky for that bath with Ran for that case, all Conan did get was a nosebleed. :P

However, it's weird that Ran didn't notice anything back then. lol Even Kogoro mentionned something..
Ran noticed the nosebleed, but figured the nosebleed was caused by the hot bath, rejecting Kogoro's reason for the nosebleed because Conan was a kid. Much later on, when Ran is suspicious of Conan and wondering how to act, Aoyama draws the nosebleed when Ran remembers the bath, implying the nosebleed itself was something that she remembered in particular.

Any idea what chapter that was?  I don't remember it...Ran thinking back to the bath thing when suspicious of Conan.

There were probably other symptoms, but Ran didn't notice them.

I think the point is that because it's a story intended for an age range that includes children, there are no other symptoms that can even be implied, so the nosebleed is used as a substitute. Ran noticed "that", attributed "it" to a warm bath. Kogoro noticed "that", and attributed "it" to seeing Ran naked. The older readers are supposed to figure out what "that" is really supposed to be and laugh, the younger readers can just laugh at the sight gag.

Nosebleed:

The kid friendly version of showing arousal.

Can be used for both guys and girls. :)

LOL it's hillarious how no one mentioned any murders as being disturbing considering how the anime has to sensor everything xD.  I guess we're all too desensitized ;).
Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar

I watched the X-files when I was 4 years old. I could never think of any deaths in DC as disturbing =P

Great now I don't feel so old xD

*also watched the same thing when I was little*

Yeah to aliens comming out of bugs and bugs comming out of aliens.

I know DC deaths are pretty mild xD, I guess I'm talking about the psycological factor?  Iunno.

They are very, very mild.

Cuz even in the Mountain Villa case you only see the head, but at that time you think it's the whole person.

It even looks like the whole person.

So they are very mild compared to X-Files....  :-X

I remember them finding pieces of her even in the anime. That, a couple of impalements, Gin shooting/torturing Shiho, and the Kir related headshots* are pretty strong for Western "children's" programming. No gore besides blood, though, so Conan is  pretty tame by shonen standards.

Oh, I guess Gin shooting up Shiho would be my choice for the thread topic... Pretty intense even with the anime's white blood spatter.

* They even used red for Shuichi's blood in the anime. Heh, but now the anime puts Ran in a towel when Conan remembers the bath...
