Your Favorite Conan MV?
I like 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th and 12th the best.
8th and 11th are the worst movies they ever made.
10th was fun, but they did not include any love stories, reasonings but only actions.
Most people say that 3most important factors in Conan MV are
Love stories,
action and reasoning,
but I see them getting horrible after 7th MV, after the director changed.
13th Mv, had great success, earning about 35million, but it's said that reasoning is horrible;;;
9th and 12th.......
not much action, but great love stories and reasoning.
6th, the reasoning was ok, but action and love story was awesome!(^^)
I'd say 4th and 7th are the best.
They have plenty of mysteries, actions, plus love stories......
How about Yours?

Re: Your Favorite Conan MV?
on the contrary, my personal favorite is movie is the 8th one, because there's Kaitou KID.
although the 3rd (KID!), 5th (BO!), 6th, 9th, 10th (KID again!), and 13th (BO again!) are very good too.
from what you said, i'd say you like romance. i don't. whoever said that love stories are important factors in DC?

6th for being the best crossover ever (until Lupin vs. Conan was announced)
2nd is a close second for actually having a very interesting case while still having lots of action and fun. 4th was much closer until the terrible fangirly ending nonsense.

Re: Your Favorite Conan MV?
Here are my general feelings about each movie
1: No actual mystery is a minus. The action is good, but everything is predictable; it's clear that this is not the most carefully put together work. 6/10.
2: Huge step forward, the mystery is a lot better and the events relate to each other much more fluidly. It also had a real climax which was nice and the villain was quite funny. 8.5/10.
3: Amazing move. The historical stuff fits right in with my interests, the final showdown is great and the action is actually tied into the mystery (this becomes a huge problem later in the series). Great supporting characters too. 9.5/10
4: Good mystery and an intense and fun final scene, but the plot just comes up short. The whole amnesia thing was just ridiculous; the way it got fixed was cute, but so contrived that I could only cringe as I realized what had just happened. 8.5/10.
5: This has a terrible action!= mystery problem, but in this case I don't really care because it is such a breeze to watch. The action is better, the score is better, the humor is better- this is just an all around excellent movie. 10/10.
6: This is the 'best' movie in the series from a critical standpoint, but as a Detective Conan it falls flat. There is no mystery. The mystery is solvable the instant you see it and thus there is none of the typical DC rush that comes from the revealing of the suspect. 5/10 (action and smoothness 10/10, mystery 0/10).
7: And now the fall. This movie just sucks. Lots of pretty pictures are the only thing 'redeeming' about this terrible mystery full of flat uninteresting characters. 2/10.
8: Unlike 7, the characters are likable. However, the mystery sucks and the main action just makes no sense. Only real redeeming factor is that it remins me of my all time favorite movie, Airplane. 4/10.
9: Similar problems to 7 and 8; this movie does feature one of the best twists in the entire series which makes up for a lot of its failings. 6/10.
10: Unbelievably bad. This is actually one of the worst movies I have ever watched. Not "one of the worst DC movies I've watch". It is terrible in every sense of the word, nothing the characters do makes sense, the main villain sucks and the climax is unbelievably predictable. 0/10.
Only watched 11 and 12 once (as opposed to 5+ times for the others movies) so not really qualified to judge (but they were bad).

Re: Your Favorite Conan MV?
5 is my favorite. Not because before this year, it was the only one involving the BO. The animation & story actually made better sense compared to some of the later ones. It's also probably where they got the idea for OVA 9, since they show pics of their future selves(although they never showed Ran's in the movie).
I agree that 11 is pretty bad, since the story felt more like it could've been done in a two-episode arc than a feature length movie. 10 was also pretty bad, since it felt like there was no real story & the villain was the worst of the movies.

Can't agree more with that. So true. >.<dilbertschalter wrote: 10: Unbelievably bad. This is actually one of the worst movies I have ever watched. Not "one of the worst DC movies I've watch". Oh well, I think movie 4 was quite good. I liked the mystery, the chase in Tropical Land. Okay, the amnesia was a dumb idea, but overall it was a very good movie. Movie 5 was quite enjoyable too.

Re: Your Favorite Conan MV?
I enjoyed the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th movies a lot.
The 1st and 2nd were okay, but the culprit for the first was far too obvious. Because of that, there wasn't much of a mystery and the movie felt like a chore to watch. 2nd just felt like it lagged, but the mystery was good.
The 3rd movie was great with all of the foreign history in it and an actual mystery was included. The fourth was also great as was the fifth and both weren't too bogged down in one element. I liked the mysteries of those two almost equally and loved the Tropical Land scenes at the end.
I really did like the 6th movie with all of the Ripper themes and action, but doesn't suffice mystery-wise. It wasn't good as a Conan movie, but still fun to watch.
I haven't watched the 7th and 8th, but the stories don't look interesting to me in the least, so I'm guessing it's wise for me not to watch them, especially from what's been said in this thread. They're sitting in my hard drive for some time, but common sense is telling me to delete them.
The 9th relied on a lot of romance to move it along, but wasn't that bad of a movie. Mystery was clunky, but not as bad as it could've been. 10th I enjoyed upon first watch, but the second made me realize that it was shit in almost every possible way: the pacing was terrible, the mystery was convoluted, and I felt like it was trying too hard to fit almost every character in the series in the plot. And those characters don't do anything relavent; a good portion of them felt like throwaways.
I haven't watched the 11th and 12th all the way through, but the 11th feels like it shouldn't have been made into a movie. I have a Japanese comic of the second half of it, and the rest doesn't look too interesting. 12th I have no idea.
The latest movie sounds and looks like it's good, but I would hate to go on "looks like", because all of the movies I've seen were pretty good in terms of picture/art quality. Something can still look great and be incredibly crappy at the same time, obviously. I still look forward to watching it when it's released.

Re: Your Favorite Conan MV?
Mov01: The romance was nice. The mystery was easy to solve. There were some scenes I repeated over and over. 6/10
Mov02: Really good. I thought it was rather philosophical, actually. 8/10
Mov03: Historical genre. Interesting, full of action. Not particularly memorable to me, though. I liked the mystery. 7/10 (Personal score: 5/10)
Mov04: I liked the romantic aspect of it. The chase in the themepark was exciting for me. 8/10
Mov05: I really loved this one. I liked the focus on the Shounen Tantei relationships. 9/10
Mov06: Political commentary! (I personally loved it 10/10), but to be objective, i'd give it 8/10
Mov07: I liked the Japanese cultural aspect. Plus, I really don't see much of Heiji's romantic side, so I liked this one. 8/10
Mov08: Meh. Kaito Kid's appearance was pretty cool, though. 5/10
Mov09: I was holding my breath in the end. The beginning wasn't as thrilling. There was a nice Kogoro moment. 5/10
Mov10: The plot wasn't very interesting. I got lost. But the mystery and the action was pretty good. 6/10
Mov11: 1/10 Nuff said.
Mov12: I like music, and the romance was decent. I'm really questioning Conan's musical abilities. Is he tone-deaf or pitch perfect? 8/10
