and on topic I just glanced at the wall of text.

Ritsu (ADHD poster child or a Jerkass take your pick), Mio and Asu-Nyan all have been stated to have been practicing for years, Mugi is a spoiled little rich girl who's parents seemingly own a music shop chain so she probably gets constant lessons from the best.

Yui is the ADD poster child while showing signs of Hyperfocus she learns fast but forgets just as fast hence the issue where she could play but not sing at the same time or runs into someone crossing the street while stareing at her friends then stoping to pet a dog for 5 minutes... the Anime seems to forgot about this from time to time, if she were in an American school she probably would of been in special ed... how she got into a Japanese high school is anyone's guess.

and on Haruhi's concert the Anime took a decent license from the novel

I didn't bother watching this despite enjoying the first season as it's probably one of the most unnecessary sequels since Highlander 2.
