Question

Post by kkslider5552000 »

Why is a detective shonen manga/anime with one of the most interesting and greatest plots that I have ever seen anywhere (Black Organization and anything related to it, anyone who is trying to stop the organization and the many mysteries that are very slowly and very carefully being revealed), is being overshadowed on this forum by a decent relationship plot (or whatever you want to call it) between Shinichi and Ran that's been overshadowed by an infinite amount of more interesting things since somewhere between Haibara's true identity being revealed and the end of Desperate Revival? (I'm ok with the Ai x Shinichi vs. Ran x Shinichi debating for some reason, although that has gone to ridiculous levels as well).

I think I know the answer but I'll be oddly nice and let other people try and answer this question.

Most of the Org. discussion is in the spoiler forum. It's been played out for a while waiting for Aoyama to add something new. Not too many new ways to argue whether Shuu faked his death or not and whether Okiya is CIA, Org., Shuu in disguise, or just a red herring, and apparently all the evidence has been noted (not so sure about that, Aoyama tends to be very subtle with Org. related evidence, scant few Conan-found-a-clue zaps or ellipses over them so even the anime staff overlooks the details now and then).

OVA 9 is all about the relationship, the antidote is just a plot device. Magic File 3 is also very Ran centric. Like it or not the OVAs decided to emphasize the relationship again, so there's some new stuff to say about it (heh, maybe it'd be less retarded to wait until we can actually understand them do discuss them, though). Then of course there's a new group of, "Ran is a pointless crybaby, Ainan forever!!!111one1!" coming along every three months or so. If they're ignoring Ran being very involved in tracking down Akemi's gang in the canon story, saving Vermouth, or protecting Haibara, in their rants about how unimportant she is, I'm going to call them on it.
