Did anyone know that the same person who plays Haibara plays Akako in the series?

I'm sorry, to me, if any childhood friends turned into a child, that would ruin the show...and make it all mushy ALL the time....theres a time for some things and a time for other things....

Not to offend anyone, JMO.

Then again, I can see Ayumi and little Ran fighting for little Conan/Shinichi's feelings...Ayumi kind of jealous or feels bad about herself....while Haibara laughs all the while because it comes so easy to her and she'll never stoop so low as to fight over a guy...but will stoop so low as to make fun of "Edogawa-kun" and his new problem....

Yes.
And the fact that Haibara Ai and Koizumi Akako sound exactly alike is actually really odd. Megumi has excellent range, so I don't understand why she decided to use the exact same voice for two different characters in the same series that (as far as we know, at least) are not connected in any way.
Other voices she's done include:
Ranma (female) Saotome (Ranma 1/2)
Lina Inverse (Slayers)
Lime (Saber Marionette J)
Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop)
Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Aunt Haruka (Love Hina)

That's only a VERY small sample of what she's done. Pick any anime from the 90s and she's probably done a voice for it, even if it's just a bit-part.

All detective boys and their parents
Megure, Satou, Tagaki
All FBI
Kaitou, his butler, his girl friend
Hope they put that as an OVA. BO winning and all main characters die.
