I feel the ending will end up so complicated. There are several things that need to be addressed in/before the ending now that things have gotten so crazy:
Like my questions are Is Shuu completely dead? Who is the leader of the Org. Gosho has to address that, well, maybe not Shuu, but I need closure .
Also we know Shinichi has to confess his feelings to Ran in the end. How will Ran react when she finds out? Will she find out the easy way (he tells her in the end) or the hard way (in a dangerous situation)?
But if he turns back, what will be the outcome of the Detective Boys? They won't have adventures, and the idea of Conan just vanishing would be strange....Also Haibara situation: will she confess that she has feelings for him? That she really cares for him? what will happen when she turns back? Will she enroll in Shinichi's school? Cuz we know she has to turn back to fight the BO. Possibly....And how will Shinichi react? Will that change the ending of the story? Or will she remain Haibara?
Where exactly would this fight take place? How will Shinichi take down the org? We saw his attempts to get Gin, and all have failed. Shuu was the only one who laid any hit on Gin, and if he's dead, then Shinichi better come up with a darn good plan.
I also have been thinking about the ending.Detective Conan has been around pretty long now....and as you said it is complicated and crazy.I just hope that the ending will be an amazing one.
yeah, of course... i hope it'll make me feel those mixed emotions: happy because it has a very nice ending... sad that it will make me miss dc so much...
I'm not gonna try to figure out some of the plot holes. Just what I think the best ending would be.
My guess: One of the important, non-FBI/CIA/BO characters dies. Shortly after that, someone finds out who Conan is and shows his identity by showing it on television (like something absurd such as that person making it so every tv in the country shows Conan's true identity (and every character sees it)). Either before or during this, Conan is finally forced to admit to Ran that he is Shinichi.
Some other stuff happens, and the FBI/CIA find the Black Organization's HQ. Conan and Haibara's identities are known so the FBI is willing to let them go with them. Also, whoever loved the important character that died also goes with them. While the FBI and CSI members (hell, maybe some of the Inspectors, that would be fun (if odd)) attack with guns, Haibara and Conan are able to sneak into the place where they find they have to solve simulations (virtual reality and stuff, maybe they could suddenly make Movie 6 canon and use those caccoon things) in a time limit or else they die. After barely solving multiple murders (and while in shonen-like fashion, the FBI/CSI members and Inspectors fight one on one in different areas), they find the Black Organization boss. Now I cannot think of anything for the BO boss but let's say that after all of the drama of "it was you all along?!" and other things like that, that he is knocked out/injured. When Conan gets a call from Agasa that Agasa was called by one of the FBI that they have won, they immediately look for the antidote (which the BO boss admitted is here). Conan finds one of them in a large room in the middle of the place, only to be attacked by Gin, still badly injured from his battle (but he was one of the only ones who escaped being arrested). Conan's ran out of anything he can use and is about to be shot. Gin decides to kill Sherry first instead. However, he is hit on the head with some metal object. It was Vodka, who was the other BO member to escape (not that escaping from one part of the HQ to another would work that well but ok). He tells Gin that it's over and that they've lost, carries Gin to the FBI and admits defeat.
And than they get home, Conan takes the antidote and is finally Shinichi again. Haibara says that she'll wait a few days to see if it's ok. All of the major characters kiss while celebrating and everyone is happy (you know stuff like that. It's a ridiculously happy ending). Haibara is at Akemi's grave and Haibara cries (and smiles) while saying that she is finally free and can finally live a normal life. Haibara disappears a few days later and everyone wonders where she went. Shinichi figures out (using his usual deduction skills) that she went to the airport. Shinichi, Ran, Kogoro and the Detective Boys go to that airport where they find Haibara waiting for a plane with Hakuba. Of course, Hakuba explains why he of all people is there. He has sort of adopted her and Haibara will live with him in England. Haibara explains that she isn't going to use the antidote and instead will start her life over as a child where her mother was born. Everyone has tears in their eyes. She hugs both Shinichi and Ran, thanking them for everything. They wave goodbye while Haibara leaves and everyone watches the plane fly away.

It was believable until you added in Hakuba.....I don't think Gosho would utilize that character to the fullest extent. Also Vodka knock out Gin?? LOL I think it'll probably be Ran who tries to knock out Gin looking for Conan and happens to get that one little lick lol. I can see Haibara headed to the airport, but that would make me saddest of all!!! I hope she stays around after the series.

1. While I agree that Hakuba is unlikely, I am hoping that at some point we get a Kid arc that lets Hakuba become important for a while.
2. Vodka knocking out Gin works because Vodka has been Gin's lackey for the entire series and occasionally Gin has been a complete jerk to him. So, his final defeat being handed to him by his lackey just seems like a fun conclusion to the story of both Gin and Vodka.

i seriously think in the end Gin would still be alive, to me he isn't character that would just die a very simple death like getting shot.
i think Gin and other BO members getting arrested makes a perfect end for a detective series.

I mostly thought of that because Vodka is the most underrated character in this show (he shows some humanity, stupidity and fun to contrast with Gin's badassness, genius and cold/evil personality). Also, the way he says "Yo" is awesome.
