Lupin III Starter Kit (DDL links)

Post by kyuuketsuki »

With the Lupin III vs Detective Conan special right around the corner, I felt it a good idea to upload a few episodes of each season. As well as a few Lupin Specials. If you want to truly enjoy what is about to come on 3/27, you need to know both sides. And for you Kaitou Kid fans, I present an extra challenge... can you spot the similarities between Lupin and Kid? (Gosho took a few ideas from the original gentleman thief)

So without further adieu....

Part 1:
Episode 1
Episode 5
Episode 15

Part 2: (Some of you might have seen this one on Cartoon Network long ago)
Episode 1
Episode 15 (I know the file says ep 14, but they are wrong.)
Episode 33

Part 3: (A bit of fair warning... Part 3 is NOT child friendly. So, we here at DCTP request that these episodes not be downloaded by anyone under the age of 16. We will not be responsible for any resulting parental scorn if they see something they might consider "less than tasteful" on your computer screen. Thank you.)

Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 6

Specials:

Kiri no Elusive
First Contact
Stolen Lupin backup for back-up, must request link via email.

Apparently, MU automatically gives the option of MegaVideo to registered users... so....

First Contact streaming
Kiri no Elusive streaming

For some Lupin III manga goodness please proceed here.

If you are worried about the episodes being random, don't. Lupin III is non-continuous. So no episode really has anything to do with the last. Its just one crazy adventure after another. I hope everyone enjoys Lupin, and the soon to come special on the 27th.

-Kyuu

Edit: The links have expired... However... viewtopic.php?p=37838#p37838 that is the complete list. If you'd like you can download the episodes I suggested. Though really... Lupin III is so awesome that it would be crazy if you didn't like it.

Similarities:

1. They're both intelligent "gentleman thieves".
Similar outfits (though KID dresses in white).

2. They never kill.
Although they're on the other side of the law, they're clearly a force for good, and those they defeated were worse villains than them.

3. Both always send out warning letters/riddles before their missions.

4. Lupin's intellectual rival is Sherlock Holmes.

PS: I based my answer on the *original* Lupin: http://tenkensmile.blogspot.com/2009/01 ... lupin.html

I don't quite agree with that. Kaitou never actually held a gun and killed anyone (except when framed). However, the first episode of Lupin III was a lot of car explosion that killed MANY MANY bad guys. I haven't checked out later episodes to see how many evil people he doesn't kill but have the chance to do so, and therefore I can't make a call for that. Still, they're both on the "good" side of the law, if stealing isn't on bad side of the law.

Hey, I did write "Although they're on the other side of the law...."

and :

I based my answer on the *original* Lupin: http://tenkensmile.blogspot.com/2009/01 ... .html
created by the famous French writer Maurice Leblanc
which surely was more appealing than Lupin III created by Japan

You need to read more... Maurice Leblanc created the original Arsene Lupin. Fantastic character, and fantastic literature. You should definitely read it. Get a taste of the real deal.

Arsene did kill at least two people that I can remember. Given, they were the ultimate sort of foes, but nonetheless! :'(

Woot!

Nice one, I'll start downloading all of them.
Thanks!  ;)

----

Lupin and Kaito similarity;

Well, both of them had their name(code name) from their father... "Kaito Kid" (The Original Phantom Thief) and "Lupin II"

Of course their inspiration is their own father.

;D.
The word for today is "legs". Now let's go to my place and spread the word.
