Ok so I really never got the whole deal in the U.S where we put 3 or 4 episodes on a disc then charge $24.99 for that disc, It is just extremely stupid. Which is why I buy my series off ebay or amazon and I just buy the box set with all the episodes, which is a lot cheaper. With the advent of Blu-Ray I truly believe that they need to stop this 3 or 20 disc thing for a series and start being more reasonable. I think 30-50 episodes per disc isnt too much too ask, especially if the series has been translated already into english. I used to know this company who took out all the extra crap they put in those DVD's and when they did that they got 30 episodes per DVD disc. I mean considering a blu-ray disc holds what? up to 50GB of information right? So what does everyone think about this?
P.S I do realize that not everyone has Blu-ray, but really i mean in general because eventually all discs are going to be that way whether they are called Blu-ray or not.
Also I mean for shows like Detective Conan, or Case Closed as it is called here, It is physically not possible for them to put 3 or 4 episodes on a disc and expect to be done producing the DVD's somewhere in the next 100 years and also shows like one piece as well. And by the time they are done we will all be dead anyways so it will be useless. Instead if you had say 50 episodes on a Blu-ray you maybe need like 10 Discs or so then the Detective Conan series is done. For other series that are like 24 episodes or 50 you can just put it all on one Blu-ray and be done with it.
P.S. I like the name case closed, and detective conan for that matter, I do not like the characters english names at all. Japanese ones are better

I'm pretty sure on one disk is usually closer to 6 episodes (from my experiences in anime dvds) but I see your point.
also, I kinda doubt Case Closed will reach season 6. Which is sad (although expected).
