Because the movie site credits the usual screenwriter, and I got sick of seeing Wikipedia cited as proof movie 13 would be canon.

Aoyama doesn't even get co-writing credits, just the usual credit as franchise creator. If he had a lot of input about the plot of movie 13, he's been snubbed in the credits from official sources.

Then, what the hell is the point of any of this?  This is just another filler-crap movie, right?  Nothing's going to change, nothing's going to happen, and everyone will be out of character.

Man, I'd been looking forward to this for months.  I seriously thought that maybe Conan would have a revival.

Well, practically, nothing has been said yet. Experience has shown that no previous movie had anything to do with the actual story, but now it's the discussion: Why should they make a movie in which (not only) Gin knows about Conan's identity? Does it make sense to make a movie like this, to muss up the entire plot if it doesn't influence the main story? I mean, such a story in the manga would surely signify the end because it's the plot of all. That's an impasse - the only possibility not to influence the main plot is either to create the entire movie a dream (but what would the fans say? I'd feel punked!) or to remove all the scenes which have been in the trailer (but that's even more absurd!).

That's why I take the opinion that this movie must have something to do with the main plot. Plus, it would fit to the manga files - Gosho always creates BO cases around the 500's, 600's, so there should be a new BO case around the 700's, starting in the middle of the 690's. That would temporally work.

But the best thing is not to expect too much...

I think unless Gosho hav plans on putting 'Irish' into the plot, he would die or disappear in the film.

And it would be nice if they put a Shinichi reappearance in the movie.

I am freaked out by the 13th movie (The Raven Chaser). My friend showed me the trailer and i couldn't help crying a little bit over....well, everything!!!! If Shinich iand Ran die, it will be the worst  anime ending ever!!!! I put this up so other worriers can speak thier thought and be comforted.

there's a high possibility that they won't die because Gosho Aoyama said so that he won't disappoint us fans of Detective Conan

shinichi , dead!!! (Shudders) i would cry for days! i don't want movie 13 to be a fluke, and if the BO are involved someone will HAVE to die but...... i think i would seriously kill Gosho if he just stopped here without a good work up from the manga or anything.
i shall keep my fingers crossed!
