They would either be allowed to PM each other for a vote or whoever is assigned as a killer can decide on their own. It would definitely be harder to agree on a common strategy but on the other hand they know all the actions of the town and who their allies are.
Maybe all the actions made in a phase could then be posted in this thread as well (not whose action it was, obviously). Black suitcase would have to be revised, it could get a random result, like Kogoro when he's drunk.
Sonoko's role could also be strenghtened by giving her an ability like "Chat", that allows her to contact players via PM.
Couldn't you start the phase earlier? Say, at 6PM. It would be 11PM in xpon land then.

I could. It depends if the american timezone people agree too. Well, that action thing would be strange. Since it would reveal roles and make some abilities useless like detect or the new stake-out etc.
Also, I can't control if people PM each other or not :x So hmm :x

@kleene: Perhaps you might want to alter the time for the second round so people who aren't able to play in round 1 would at least be able to play this round.
Another random idea, depending on how the first round turns out: what about forbidding players to PM each other? That would make it more like the parlour game and speed things up as well. I'm not sure how it would affect balancing tho.

well, yeah. Well, right now we don't even know if it will be necessary - but there will be way too many PMs to answer if the number of players is similiar to the one in regular mafia. Comming up with alliances and strategies in such a short time might prove difficult (we'll see after round 1).
It would also help to distinguish mini mafia from maxi mafia.

Well yeah, and that part's not enforceable either, and I was just pointing out the difference of the dead people rule to the "quiet game" rule because of the in-thread part of the dead people rule.
