This depends. If I was 10 years younger, I'd say that they are. My father is the one who made me go to watch with him the first prequel, and I liked it. The lazer swords, the lazer guns, the robots, the swords fight, the special effects - all of these things were knew to me (considering most of the movies I've seen by that time were cartoons made by Disney). So a few years later, I also went to see the second one.
I've only seen the original trilogy AFTER I've seen the second prequel. At the time, compared to the prequels (in which I cared more for the special effects than the plot.......how do you expect a child to understand the plot of the first prequel actually), and found them rather dull (lack of action and not many special effects. Yes, I know they were before 30+ years ago). And lastly, I've seen the third prequel.
Now if you ask me now, yes, the original trilogy is definitely better. I do believe though that the fan base spends WAY too much time "hating" Lucas for the trilogy, considering the hardcore fans will probably buy any Star Wars product (books/games/cartoons), and if he ever creates another Star Wars movie (I somehow believe he will remake the original trilogy in the "prequel's style" in order to make more money), those fans will definitely go see it.

Lord of the Rings. I like the original Star Wars films but I am not that into the newer ones and as for Harry Potter I really prefer the books. And Twilight? Never! I am not evil.

I voted Twilight cause of mean. Lord of the Rings is really long though and I never got through it in one sitting...actually I think I never sat through the whole movie. Star Wars was good, but I think Jabba the Hut scared the living day lights out of me. Harry Potter is best to read the books, though the movies are ok.

Agreed.  I started with Episode I, but the original trilogy is definitely a whole lot better.  No remakes!  That would just ruin everything...

Hellz no. The originals are fine as they are. A rewritten episode I script with less Binks and more Maul wouldn't go amiss, however.
