Yeah, that's incredibly stupid of them.  What's worse is that there will probably be many, many screaming girls that will go to see both of them.

Harry Potter was split for a reason:  there's just too much to do in three hours.  Twilight, though... nothing happened in the last book!  Seriously, it was horribly boring.

The making money part wasn't the stupid part.  It's the drawing out a book so much that it's going to be two movies instead.  Honestly, there's not a whole lot that actually happened...

well yeah, and two movies sells more tickets than one movie, if the fans are crazy enough to go see both anyway. They might be the worst movies ever to other people, but they'll probably make more money than just a single one. I doubt the people paying for the movies care about making a "good" Twilight movie at all.

I've read all four of the books, and saw the first two movies - and narrowly escaped seeing Eclipse with a friend who loves the series. That's way more than enough for me.

Would it surprise you if I said yes? I have a problem where if I start a series, it bugs me until I finish it. So I made it through all the books (barely), and luckily that was enough that I don't have to see all the movies too.
