Hmm... That's an option, but after that kind of situation Ran would be still angry with Shinichi - he lied to her, he behad as if he didn't care about her at all, he didn't even give her a good explanation. So I guess she wouldn't blush while thinking about him, she would rather be mad or terribly sad and not call him, because of it. Besides, how Shinichi would lose her?? It's not like she's so fast runner or there was so big crowd on the bridge. I don't think he would just let her go after seeing her cry. I guess it would be the most annoying thing in this case if Gosho didn't make any interesting scene during the chase.
