Re: PC related question
i guess the most suitable solution is to buy a external harddisk to save all your data.. and just use the comuter!.. if you switch the HD. between the 2 computer.. that mean you must re-instal in 2 computer.
while if you only switch the computer, you just need to instal games in the new computer and access all data in portable HD.!.

Re: PC related question
We have on of those already so I'll borrow it for a short while, I can not afford one of my own at the moment. Although it recently was really cheap ones for sale, around 60$, 1 terrabyte. The computer I'm going to borrow original hard drive will not be installed in my computer, it will simply lay to rest so that she can easily put it in again when I stop borrowing the computer.xpon wrote: i guess the most suitable solution is to buy a external harddisk to save all your data.. and just use the comuter!.. if you switch the HD. between the 2 computer.. that mean you must re-instal in 2 computer.

Re: PC related question
in that case you need to buy a brand new Harddisk!
the 3.5"
it wont cost much.
btw.. why dont use the same computer but 2 users???
at first i think the original HD is going to used in other place... and if it about files.. then i can understand!.. but if there is no secret files.. you can always create new user and instal the games..
but i still think buying a new HD is better... and just keep using XP!.. it good ...
dont use vista.. 7 is better!.

Re: PC related question
I'll try to explain again. My mum has a PC she never uses, so I will borrow it, but she want her current harddrive untouched so we will simply take hers out and put mine in. As for having Vista, either I will have to buy XP x64 or Windows 7, but right now I can't afford it. But if Vista won't work properly I will buy Windows 7 later. XP x32 can't handle all the RAM so then it will be wasted. Also I think my current harddrive will be bigger when put in her PC, since I think something about my current PC makes it unable to understand just how big the hardrive is. Can't remember what it was though, think it was the motherboard.xpon wrote: in that case you need to buy a brand new Harddisk!

I haven't heard anything about x32 vs x64 mattering in regards to HD space, but I could be wrong.nomemory wrote: I'll try to explain again. Also, realize that if you switch out your HD with hers (and not just add yours in along with hers), if that was her only HD you're going to have to reinstall the OS anyway (because I'm guessing your system doesn't use a 64bit OS), which would probably require formatting your drive.

Re: PC related question
I think it was the motherboard. Yeah, I will have to do that so Vista here I come, I really hope all Vista haters are wrong. Although I have used it one time, I remember it always asking me if I was sure, about everything. But perhaps I can make it stop doing that.Akonyl wrote:I haven't heard anything about x32 vs x64 mattering in regards to HD space, but I could be wrong.nomemory wrote: I'll try to explain again. Re: PC related question
If it works with XP why wouldn't it work with Vista? I am sure she knows what she is doing, also having to buy different Windowses for all your computers sounds dumb.xpon wrote: no the vista!
