Conan and company have been invited to a opening concert of the Music Hall built by the pianist. The biggest attraction of this concert is the world famous violin called "Stradivarius" and a special appearance of a singer who has perfect pitch.

After the disaster that was movie 11, I'm not holding my breath. However, they have brought back Kazunari Furuuichi (the writer for 1-5, 7-9), so maybe there's hope yet. The real problem is the director, though. Yamamoto has done nothing but serve the fangirls since he came in with movie 8 -_-'
The writer for movies 10 & 11 (two of my least favorites) is actually really good outside of Conan. His name is Hiroshi Kawashiabara and he's worked on Lupin a number of times. Most of his Lupin work is very commendable, but Conan just isn't his thing it seems. Let's hope Furuuichi brings things back to speed.

Yes I was thinking the same since movie 11 was a huge let down and the hype for movie ten wasn't as good as the movie was supposed to be. I found out about Kawashiabara writing the script so I was kind of excited. Hopefully this won't be a big let down.
I agree, at this point in time i have just let myself prepared for 12 being a disaster so if it really is oh well but if it turns out good it makes it all the better XD
i did like movie 10 but i also agree that it could have been better. Furuuichi did do quite a nice job in the pasted i really enjoyed 2-4 and 9 in any case we just have to wait and see.
After 11, I do agree that I won't be keeping hopes too high for 12. 10 wasn't entirely bad. I actually liked it (much more than 11, for sure). But I didn't like it as much as 3~5. Those are among the best detective conan movies in my list, at least. 3 was acutally the first movie I watched, so it stuck.
But I really do hope they pull themselves back up with 12... two flops in a row won't look good on the record, and it will be a major disappointment to fans (particularly as Clash of Red and Black comes to a close...)
Either way, we must wait it out and see...
"But perhaps my first mistake lies in trying to find motive, in thinking of humans as rational beings whose actions spring from logical reasons."
I myself am totally looking forward to this new movie, even though i prolly wont see hide nor hair of it till october or somesuch^_^. By far Phantom on Baker Street was my fav. but i did also enjoy 10. It took so long for a group to sub 11 so i ended up picking up the maylay ver on DVD. while it wasent one of the best conan movies i can watch over and over again. Id say it rates ok on my list of movies i can watch sometimes:/
I was gonna post this in a new thread, but I saw this thread I thought it'd be better to post it here
As many people pointed out, movie 11 was like meh...
Because of that, I didn't bother so much to read the news about Movie 12.
But anyway, here is the quiz for Movie 12: The Quiz for Movie 12
ã
I don't think anything can be worse than movie 11... Besides, there was a bomb explosion in the trailer! Usually that means something exciting...(or maybe not)
(Although most seem to have to do with either the Japanese language or Japanese culture, which I know diddly of, besides what I've learned thru DC)
P.S. Anyone know where to watch movies 4 and 5? I recently noticed how some fans like these two the best.. and I wanted to re-watch since I haven't seen them in some time. The only thing I will say is, after watching ALL of them.. I'm not sure how anyone can dislike movie 7.. and I'd like someone to explain..
P.P.S. .. About the plot description.. doesn't it seem oddly familiar? Episodes 385-387 entitled "Dissonance of the Stradavarius Violin".. Doesn't it seem like they re-use certain plot OUTLINES (i.e. there being a hyping building in the ocean) on the movies?
Which episode had a building in the ocean? I know you're referencing Movie 2, but I can't recall an episode with that. As for the Stradavarius, it's a brand of violin, not a specific one. It's not that uncommon to use music themed episodes or movies when you think about who voices Conan.
(1) Culprits in Detective Conan are insane!
(2) Ran would usually notice that Conan is missing immediately
(3) Each time an explosion happen, 1000 people or so became in danger!
(4) The melody in this movie cannot be "Nanatsu no ko"! Don't even think about it!
(5) The guy in the trailer says "Everything are for the sake of Silence". If that guy was the culprit, I guess his motive would be hating music. I guess he used to live next door to one of the musicians, and that musician was practicing a lot!
