Also to repeat myself from the Spoiler cbox:

How AWESOME would it be if Minerva = Bourbon (Holmes, observation, discernment) and she was referring to Akemi as the "love trouble"?

The fact that Conan didn't think of Big Ben when a bell/clock was referenced makes it an almost certainty that it'll be the target.  Not 100%, but probably a good 83%.  Furthermore, Kogorou and Ran didn't visit there as one of their "large number" areas.

And Abs, that'd be hilarious.  And I figure I'll put this out there since I mentioned it to Jd: I think Ares had an affair with Mama Glass.  Apollo may even be his son.  Other possibility, depending on Mama Glass' age, is that Ares is actually her son, making him and Minerva half-siblings (based on Ares and Athena being siblings in mythology).

I will bet anything that Minerva's "love troubles" are something to do with this.

I'm on board with the "Big Ben" theory, and just thinking about whether their Greek God names have any significance to the riddle or not. And what the "celebrate in advance" thing is about. Is the date some significant birthday or anniversary, maybe?

Mh... actually, that interpretation seems pretty generic. Typical first deduction, that must be wrong to keep the story going. I'd rather not make stupid deductions of that sort and wait until the story developes. Since we can't investigate further by ourselves, we don't have other option but to wait.

I also think the fact that they didn't even mention the Big Ben is probably a sign that it will be something related to the Big Ben.

I don't think Minerva being Bourbon makes much sense, since she's probably a public person, that travels around the world playing tennis matches, so it's unlikely she had the opportunity to be fooling around disguised as Akai, if Bourbon was in fact scar Akai. She wouldn't have the time to be looking for Sherry, either, though.

Diana and Apollo are twins in mythology. I don't think that the characters' names have that kind of meaning. But I guess it's not just Gosho's joke to choose mythological names. Venus, Diana, Apollo, Minerva, Ares - that's just too many names, it can't be coincidence. I'm also surprised that nobody (in manga) noticed it. Conan should have think about it, because it's weird. Now I don't know what is has to do with the case, but there must be something...

Another weird thing - why Minerva talked so much about herself to totally stranger?? Suspicious... I mean, Ran didn't ask her about so many details, so why famous tennis player told almost the whole story about her family? I'm sure that there's some important information - about the murderer's motive for example. Minerva said that she had troubles with love, but now she doesn't have any, she even thinks that love is nonsense. Something happened and maybe it has some connections with the murderer.

At first I thought that Minerva was Yukiko because of that. One possible explanation might be that the Japanese in general and Gosho in particular think that Westerners are more extrovert than Asian. Her behaviour might not seem very British to us, but it might seem like normal Western behaviour to a Japanese audience.

I don't think it's connected with this case; Minerva's behaviour kinda reminded me of Sharon in the NYC case, so she might very well be Bourbon.
The thing with the Roman gods is certainly weird. One thing's strange though:
Ares is a Greek God (Roman equivalent: Mars)
Minerva, Venus, Diana and Apollo are Roman gods. But Apollo's Greek equivalen is Apollon, so that might just be a mistake on Gosho's side.

Just a detail, the Tour de France never begins on the second thursday of Wimbledon (it usually starts on the second Saturday, sometimes the second Sunday), but in the previous chapter, Glass-kun said his sister was in the semi-finals. So if people were watching something, it had to be Wimbledon. Well, I guess Gosho just didn't bother to do more research on that particular subject.  ;D

People rise early to go to church and the cathedral has a spire (long nose) on top of a dome (egg) which would be cold as a corpse because of the building material used. "Fortify" seems to imply something sturdy like a building to me as well.

30 St Mary Axe - location map - A funny shaped landmark building which has resulted in the nickname "Gherkin"- a fruit similar to a cucumber which is often pickled. There is no word for Gherkin in Japanese as far as I can tell, so pickle might be the closest Gosho could get.
Nearby just across the tower bridge is
London City Hall - location map - another funny shaped building sometimes quoted as looking like an egg, among other things.
Going by the Japanese translations it mentions "fortifying beforehand with an egg", and "finishing up by ... a pickle" I think those before and after time frames are important.
Between those two locations is the Tower of London. Location map. Besides having a belltower,ravens are also kept in the Tower of London as part of a superstition. Perhaps they are the long nosed wizards?

It would have been nice if City Hall was on the other side of the river. In that case invoking the Circle Line of the London Underground would have worked out nicely. The first stop after the Tower of London, Monument, would have been (and is if you ignore being across the river) the closest to the egg-shaped City Hall. The last stop before the Tower of London, Aldegate, is the closest stop to 30 St Mary Axe. It would also mean going around clockwise. The circular line also passes baker street which would explain the thought-like-phrase "That's right, I should order a celebratory cake," with Baker Street bringing to mind baked goods. If it's bringing everything to a close, perhaps the location could be at the Tower of London which would be full circle. Another location that springs to mind is the London Eye -location- a large ferris wheel, which would attract lots of kids. It's right across the river from Big Ben.
