It wasn't Holmes.  It was Ritchie.  :P

Personally I thought it was a very good adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. If you look at the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes it fits the character very well. As for the overbearing action? Well, there was more than what Holmes would have likely done, but he was a bare knuckle boxer and a single stick expert so the fighting was on key at the very least. I even thought his method and thought while fighting felt like Holmes.

I overall enjoyed the film, and it is one of my favorite adaptations of the character.

It's just okay. There are some good parts and yeah... bad parts.

Meh.
Not a bad movie or the worst adaption evert, but nothing to write home about either.

I loved Irene Adller. And the film itself, for me, was very good.

I looooved the movie. But next time they should make a case out of it so we can try and solve it with/before he does!

It was good actually. One of the best movies IMO. The portrayal of the characters is fine and the story line is good also. Hope the sequel is way better than this one since Moriarty will be included.

I fell asleep after like... 30 minutes of the movie.
Not because it was boring.. It was because I started watching it around 1 in the morning, after a whole day of walking through two different malls. I was too tired.

I need to rewatch it. :-\

Seen it, and I deemed it very much win. I loved the deconstruction of fights, and Holmes a bit coked up was hilarious. Also, Holmes and Watson made my inner Yaoi Fangirl very happy.

Most of the people said they liked the movie, while 1 or 2 said they didn't.
:P

I wonder if Gosho will watch this movie, of course he would need it subbed in Japanese.

This movie was every way to completely destroy the character of Sherlock Holmes that the readers know and love. The movie was still entertaining, but I just couldn't help buy find every single inconsistency with the books. I guess it was too much for me to enjoy the movie. In the end, a way too commercial movie of Sherlock :(

I liked it. It's nice to see a different Holmes every now and then-- although the movie's Holmes' not that quite unfaithful to the original character made by Sir Doyle.

I find the movie Holmes and Doyle's Holmes very different. I didn't really like it but it was not bad
