That's about 6.5 normal episodes, though only if you include the OP and EDs.  Look at the "book" arcs, and it isn't that far-fetched.  Melancholy was 6 episodes and Sigh was 5.

Well, it was going to happen.  Bandai released a teaser mentioning that Season 2 will be getting a U.S. release.  No mention if they're keeping the old voice actors for this Season 2.  I also wonder they will actually dub all the Endless Eight episodes?

Here's a video with the "new" ASOS Brigade w/ the actress playing Haruhi singing the intro song in english near the beginning:

Wow, impressive singing there! Is it bad to say that I have not seen this show, nor have an immediate desire to do so?

Maybe I wasn't paying much attention to the video, but I didn't catch anything concerning a release date.  All that was new in that one is that they're releasing it as a box set.  Which is good, especially if all 8 Endless Eight episodes are getting dubbed.

After reading the spoilers about the Vanishment of Haurhi Suzumiya movie, I hope that gets an english dub(eventually).  Sounds like something that seems to be serious compared to the tv series.

...
Felt like I need to let all my disappointments (about the Disappearance movie) out here
Spoiler:
...Thought it'd be nice but the supposed-to-be climax was quite predictable :P
Kyon'd definitely choose the world he came from because that's the world he came from. He should've at least experienced a lifetime in each world to make an unbiased decision... but oh well. What pissed me off most is that Haruhi was a f***ing EXTRA... The other Haruhi could've been at least a polar opposite; the story could've probably been more interesting

Spoiler:

you will see that Haruhi really does take a backseat to the others in the rest of the novels they mostly deal with the rest of the SOS and book 9 introducing an apposing group that has everything but a Kyon character.

I'm trying to not be impatient but have they even announced a release date for the dvd for Dissappearance yet? It seems odd to me if they haven't and I can't find anything online about it.

Nothing yet, but sometime between mid-October and early-November is likely, unless they hold it until mid-December to match the movie's timeframe.

Aya Hirano has stated she will no longer do voice work in favor of more mainstream Japanese entertainment.

Which means no more new Haruhi. This is probably for the best, because I don't think they can match the first series.

OH snap. Really? Hirano really is popular in the anime world D: and haruhi isn't haruhi without her voice D: (penalty! penalty!)

so haruhi is stuck with just 2 seasons and a movie then huh? well, the question is, will they replace her? ._. is it possible?

source or IT NEVER HAPPENED

unless you mean that poorly sourced thing I've read that says nothing about no longer doing voice work as much as going more towards mainstream Japanese entertainment

False alarm, nothing to see here guys!

Haruhi is annoying. Hirano's voice is annoying. They were meant for each other
No BS here though. I mean it in a good way... kinda :P
